In extreme cases confusion; I don't know about aphasia. It wouldn't be my first guess. It's a routine lab test; hypothyroidism can exacerbate other conditions, so have it checked.

Confusion, yes.
Aphasia, no. Aphasia is caused by injuries or defects in the brain, not hormonal issues.

having an out of wack thyroid can cause many problems. hypo thyroid can cause muscle aches fatigue memory problems and weight problems.

i could see confusion and aphasia maybe, but id be thinking more on the lines of a stroke with those symptoms.

Is this person elderly? It could be a stroke.
