I am 43 year old male, and am feeling overall poorly. I am strong and all that, but I just feel weak and tired, and I have difficulty getting good sleep. I recently was diagnosed with sleep apnea and am using the CPAP machine, but I still wake up tired and cant maintain my sleep through the night. I still drag through the day with tiredness, weakness, and depression. A friend suggested a series of tests his naturepathic doctor took him through including hormone levels check, hair, and spittle test...but he didnt know what the other tests available to determine chemistry and nutritional deficiencys might be. Wondering if anyone could advise me on what tests to have my doctor adminster.

Hey guys have a quick question for you. I was standing second in line at the checkout counter with my two purchases, a collard shirt and a pair of denium shorts. I was holding them sorta flung over my forearm, so the top of the shirthad formed a tiny point and stuck out about 6'' or so. The girl in front of me was a very animated talker, and she backed into me. I thought nothing of it at the time, she aplogized, but as she walked away, rather slowly, and the cashier finished ringing up my shirts, I noticed there was a burst pimple on her back, she was wearing a tank-top, and that it was bloody, I could see it gleaming under the lights. I then nervous that she had backed into my shirt and got her blood on it. I am worried about HIV and Hep C. Can I get them if her blood came into contact with my shirt and I put the shirt on? Will a simple was in hot water with detergent kill off anything in her blood, like HIV or Hep C? PLease let me know, I am freaking out.
Thanks

How far back do your sinus' go that it would show up on a brain scan? I've been having severe migraines. Would this infection possibly be causing this pain?

I am lactose intolerant and this causes me to go #2 alot. I have read that being lactose intolerant, my body is NOT absorbing important nutrients (such as calcium) if it is passing through my system so fast. With that said, is it also possible that my body is not absorbing the fat either? In other words, can drinking milk cause me to lose weight? If I were to eat fatty foods, followed by a big glass of milk, can this milk essentially "push" out all the other fatty foods, thus, being a fast way to lose weight? My stools are generally floaters, which suggests fat to me. True?

For at least a week every time i eat, when im in the middle to end of my meal i get a lot of congestion built up in my chest, and have to cough it out. the congestion seems quite heavy when i cough it out, but eventually after im done eating it goes away. When i drink fluids i feel as if i cannot breathe and drink at the same time or ill choke. I thought it may be just a cold but its been there for awhile now it seems. My voice is kind of "watery" i always have to clear it before i talk, and at first i thought it was maybe just a post nasal drip into my throat causing it but once again im not sick. i think i may have some type of dysphagia, but im not sure. its not severely affecting me yet so i dont really see a reason to go to the doctor. can it get worse? i know the best thing is to go to the doctor but advice here would be great.

thanks!

My Sister, who has always been extremely emotional, mean, anger prone, and overweight recently went to a "natural" health specialist who said her thyroid is underperforming.

Does having hypothyrodism really make people obese and unpleasant and can they can't help it?

And then he said that he has to poop a lot lately.. and it's not normal colored. It's dark brown (almost black) and greenish... Also, his stomach has hurt really bad lately where his appendix is.. is this anything to worry about?

i was just diagnosed with iron-deficient anemia, mostly due to a heavy menstrual cycle (which is being treated). Any suggestions for vegetarian iron-rich foods to eat? Also, is the supplement iron glycinate okay to use instead of ferrous sulfate? Anyone know the difference? any help would be appreciated.

I do have ibs and that is what contributes, but man alive I am in pain lately when I do go. Can you help. I guess should just use a stool softener but need a suggestion.
If I should just eat salad and corn all day just tell me. I hate both but am willing now at this point. But oh i love to eat.

To make a long story short, I have an eye problem where I don't see out of my right eye as well as the left. A dr told me 12 years ago that I would eventually need surgery. For the past 2-3 years, I have been getting migraines. I had an MRI, etc, and the neurologist told me they were probably hormonally related.

Lately, though, I am wondering if maybe it is not just eyestrain (left side compensation, possibly?) because they always occur on the left side of my head. They seem to appear most often when I am tired, which seems to indicate that it is either a tension headache, or that my eyes are tired as well. They also seem to appear during hormonal times, such as when I was pregnant. Rx migraine pills do nothing--ibuprofen helps the most. They feel like tension headaches, except only by my eyes.

Glasses help only a little, and so does taking an iron supplement. (Negative test for anemia.) Both things seem to prevent them but I have to do both.

What sounds the most reasonable

I know that stress is a huge factor due to cortisol and I know by my flare ups during crazy times and I tend to eat more than what is intended as average daily intake, which lately is all the time. My question is this, if cortisol plays such a huge role with my stress, would it be a good idea to go to the doctor and get some sort of medicine that helps maintain stress.

upset pain in stomach

Hurts if you press and let go, hurts by itself. Now rest of stomach is starting to hurt. Could this be an ulcer? No bleeding that I know of. Had a fever 2 days ago and stomach problems but this all went away so I attributed it to the flu or my crazy diet.

I wonder if this is serious...? Any opinions?

My 83-year old father-in-law fainted and fell and hit his head five days ago. He was taken to the local suburban hospital. Since he has been in the hospital, his kidneys shut down, because his catheter wasn't working, and he now has a staph infection and a blood infection. In addition, he has terrible back pain (undetermined cause) for which the hospital is refusing to give him pain medication. He was sent to the ICU last night, and they fixed the catheter to restore some kidney function. The infections persist, yet the doctors are talking about doing surgery in five days to put in a pacemaker when they have not exhausted all possible causes of his fainting episodes. My sister-in-law and mother-in-law are dealing with the situation on the ground, but my wife and I (from 1,500 miles away) feel as if this is the Keystone Cops where the right hand doesn't know what the left hand is doing. What should we suggest to improve the level of his care?

I have been on a new medication and have lost all appetite. I feel sick every time I eat or drink something and haven't eaten much for the last 2 days. Also, I haven't had hardly anything to drink either. What are signs of serious dehydration that I need to watch for?
