Why is it that I'm just okay with paying at least $30 a carton every week of my life? That's $30 x 52 weeks a year at $1,560 total per year! And to top it off, there's 200 cigarettes in a carton so that's a whopping 10,400 cigarettes smoked per year!

And that's being easy on the numbers! Sometimes I may smoke more, sometimes I may smoke less, and anyone who smokes knows that $30 per carton is one heck of a deal...

So what's my deal? If anyone who doesn't smoke is reading this, my absolute best advice is just don't start. You may enjoy it, the calming effect they can have, and truly when everyone else is doing it, it's just so easy to be sucked into it and do it as well... but don't. I haven't suffered any health problems yet, but jeez. I've been smoking for 9 years so that's $14,040 spent on smokes in my life. That's 93,600 cigarettes I've smoked in my life! In only 9 years! Imagine those people who smoke all their lives!

It's just not worth it!

My cousin fell down suddenly and had an epiliptic attack. He was unconsious for about 10 minutes and when he got up he did'nt recognise us,He slept for 2 hours then and inbetween got up and vomited lunch he ate.(he slept coz doc shot him a sleeping one)
He is a heamophilic patient . Doctors got his Brain CT scan done and prescribed him vit B complex and some sleep pills. I feel haemophilia he suffers is somehow responsible for this epiliptic attack. Can anyone explain if there is a realation between Haemophilia and Epiliptic attack?

Has anyone experienced episodes of disturbed sleep where you are awake and conscious in your mind but still physically asleep - that is, you try to open your eyes and get out of bed but can't - and when you try to go back to sleep - you experience a kind of seizure? Would this be related to epilepsy or some sleep disorder?

I am thinking about having a BUPA classic health assessment done. This would involve a mammogram, smear, full blood tests, hearing, vision, heart (ECG) and lung function tests. Turned 40, recently stopped smoking and want a health check. Have any of you out there had one and if so, what do you think?

Does anyone else that suffers with Acid Reflux and ulcers get flare ups? I have had a flare up for 4 days and I've actually come home from work because I am so unwell. I feel sick and my stomach is burning and I feel hungry/sick it's a really strange feeling. I took a Protium 40mg this morning as Nexium 20mg doesn't seem to be doing that much for me, but even the Protium isn't doing much. I am really suffering at the moment with this.

I have been singing for years but over the last few months I am starting to notice that I can't reach the high notes. my voice just seems to fade on me and it feels like there is a kind of lump preventing me from producing sound (just for the higher notes)

I have not over used my voice at any time and had no throat infections or any pain - I just can't sing like I used to. Anyone heard of this before?

she's having "fits" while she's awake and asleep she shakes, screams, becomes unresponsive, tightens all of her muscles, has difficulty forming words during the episodes (if she is responsive) and she becomes very tired when these fits are over. We've been to the nuerologist, her PCP, and the emergency room at the children's hospital. They still can't figure it out. Please answere if you have something genuine and helpful to say, we're going through enough w/o people's rude comments

In the uk they give you an quick eye test just at the start of the practical driving test (cars) by making you stand about 20 meters away from a parked car and reading its number plate. I really don't think I can read it from that distance, I can read them about 4-5 cars lengths away max. In any case i'd rather not take the risk of losing my test fee before the test even properly starts (it will be soon as well)

My eyesight isnt terrible its just after certain distance I have trouble idetifying letters like a G might look like an 8 to me or vice versa. things dont appear completely in focus. The eye clinic said my cornea is curved making this happen and its called kerocantus.

I went to the eye clinic about six months ago and they said i have this rare condition called kerocanotus (spelling?) and its a progressive condition. What are my options? will just wearing glasses work? or contact lenses? Never worn either before so I dont really know?
