I was diagnosed over christmas with something known as Grave's Disease, a thyroidean malfunction basically. i am on the right medication and everything but I was wondering if anyone might know anything I should or should not do to help the process. Things I should or should not eat, or do?

Graves Disease is characterized by hyper thyroid function. The thyroid gland is overly stimulated. Honestly, there is nothing other then medications that you can do to make the thyroid not overstimulate. But, you can keep yourself healthy by eating frequent small meals daily, get plenty of rest, try to limit the stressors in your life, drink plenty of fluids. If you are having problems with sleep keep a diary of the days events to identify if "life" is keeping you from sleep. Get a bedtime schedule in place to ensure that you get plenty of rest. Also, this is a very serious problem. Make sure you keep up with your doctors visits and have your thyroid function test periodically as ordered.
Good luck!

I was diagnosed with this in 2001, took radioactive iodine to basically keep my thyroid from producing anything and now I take replacement hormones for the rest of my life.
Once you get regulated the most important thing is to go for regular blood tests and monitor your thyroid levels. They say that in my case, my thyroid could begin to function again and throw everything out of whack.
I also stay away from excess caffeine, it really affects me if I have too much.

from what I hear, be careful to eat pure, fresh food....i have heard organic food is best. Best wishes...I have a friend who was cured when she had a baby and didn't abort, against the wishes of her doctor...the baby is fine and the mom is now normally healthy.
