You cannot get HIV results in one day. A phobia and OCD are not the same thing. You are really just experiencing an irrational fear. You might as well have the blood test (or is your secondary gain hanging onto the drama?) because it makes no difference - you either have it or not. And you know that you do not. Your mum is right - it is nonsense. Why don't you go and see yur doctor and see if you can arrange some counselling to get to the bottom of this. Good Luck.

What has happened to make you think you have HIV? Have you had unprotected sex? or anything else that you can contract HIV from?
If you havent then I"m sure there is nothing to worry about. But the best thing to do is go and get yourself checked out and have a blood test done.
You say that you think your doctor may have picked up on it if you had it........ well they wouldn't have done, if they were not looking out for it - so that is why you need to get checked out for it immediately.
I too suffered from OCD, went on meds for it....... made it better, and I only occasionally have it now (on bad days) and my ocd's involved various different things....... and it DOES include being scared about things.
I used to check that everything in the kitchen was turned off, locked and shut up to 10 times before I went to bed, because I was SCARED a fire would start if I didn't. I still make sure everything is just right now, but its not out of hand like it used to be.
I had other phobias and worries too, and the doctor linked them all to ocd, anxiety and panic attacks.
So please don't let people tell you ocd is all in your mind, an excuse etc etc, because it is a proper medical condition, and if you need help for it then go to the Doctor. It can be treated.
Good luck in your job interview!!
PS dont have unprotected sex, untill you find out one way or the other. ;0)

Well the problem is your OCD, which is not really something you can fix on your own. I would suggest seeing a psychiatrist, or a therapist at least. Go to your doctor and they can recommend someone for you. Once you have that under control, everything else will follow.
I know it may be difficult accepting that you may need therapy, but the first step to getting better is accepting that you have a problem.
The first girl said to just get it out of your mind, but the problem with OCD is that people have these constant "obsessions" that no matter what they do they cannot get rid of. Therapy almost always helps with this, it is tried and true (and I don't mean going on drugs!!).

The truest thing I've ever heard about OCD was this: it only takes from you. You think if you let it have this one thing, this one worry, then that's all it wants, all it needs, all it's asking for, so why not just give in to it on this one thing? Just to shut it up? And the OCD takes the one thing, and moves on to wanting you to make another change to your life, and then another, and another, until it's completely ruling your existence.
Try to get some help with this; it is available, and it is possible to get past it.
And please do try to get to your nursing school interview; I bet you'd be a brilliant nurse!
Very best wishes.

You can't really do anything until you know if you have it or not, but now there is so much they can do for you as well if you have got it, you obviously feel like you put yourself at risk otherwise you wouldn't feel this way but look HIV doesn't care who it infects and you can not make any plans until you have the results and you know if they are positive or negitive
Good Luck xx

The biggest mistake doctors did was giving OCD a name. It's a self developed mental problem that people use as a crutch to not think about the real problems they have. Or to somehow feel special and more important then others. Just stop treating yourself like a spoiled brat you dont have a disease just an ego.

When did this start? Did something traumatic happen in your life to start these feelings? I think you need to look into it and maybe get some professional help.
