Avoid too much caffeine, nicotine and alcohol. Also fatty foods. When you lay down prop yourself up. Drink plenty of water. And on the on-set of a flare up try a couple pieces of raw potato. I have been prescribed "Levsin" for my flare-ups but in a pinch I have tried the raw potato method and it works. Good luck. I know how you feel having suffered from Acid Reflux for 6 years.

You should ask your doctor that and then come back and tell us because now you have us curious. I dream when I over eat (I no longer have acid reflux) so it seems reasonable to think that way.

You should really go to the Dr to get another diagnosis, you could have a hiatal hernia which causes acid reflux and if you have ulcers that is even worse try using prilosec, you can go to the Dr and ask him for something else they have different types of drugs to treat it but they do have surgical procedures also my sister had one.

You can check the internet on GERD and you will find many sufferers who can share with you their experiences. You have to raise your head with pillows to prevent the gastric acid of flow to your oesophagus. You can get some advices from the net.

Time for more tests and a re-evaluation. It could be more than acid reflux--esophagus rupture, hernia, etc. Get to the doc's ASAP.
