i was just diagnosed with iron-deficient anemia, mostly due to a heavy menstrual cycle (which is being treated). Any suggestions for vegetarian iron-rich foods to eat? Also, is the supplement iron glycinate okay to use instead of ferrous sulfate? Anyone know the difference? any help would be appreciated.

Spinach.

Check the health food store. A few years ago we used something called Floradex or Flora something that had added iron. It was all natural veggies & herbs (spinach & I can't remember what else.)

It's harder to get a large enough supply of iron through just foods unless you are going to do the juicing.
