I'm doing a research paper on anorexia nervosa. I'm in high school and we're required to write a research paper. I'm really confused about what I should write about. My thesis is Popular culture contributes to anorexia. What should my topics and subtopics be?

The eating disorder of Anorexia Nervosa has been in existence for a long time. It's quite common among teenagers, and models. The demands of modern society adds pressure for the paper-thin image.

Only upon the death of Karen Carpenter; was this disorder made known and brought to the forefront.

Topics and subtropics could be:

The definition of it. The evolution of the disease. The causes of it. Who are at risks? What are the signs and symptoms? What are the treatments? How to avoid it? Try to include pictures.

Celebrities like Nicole Richie, Mary Kate Olsen, etc. and the girls that look up to them. Models that girls look up to and try to emulate. Sports that promote Anorexia like ballet, gymnastics and figure skating.

There is a really famous photograph example on the disease. It is a man from a concentration camp. Which goes to show that not all the time it's not you that is starving yourself.
