If so what about other "self inflicted diseases or injuries"

Joggers with dodgy knees or ankles.
People who drink too much alcohol.
People who are obese through over eating.
Stupidity.

Who else should be denied free treatment?

For the last few days she has been waking in the mornings with sleep (crust in the corner of her eye), i wasnt to worried as she seemed fine. she has no fever or iritation. About an hour ago i noticed she has a white discharge floating around in both of her eyes. I figure this is conjuntavitius (sorry about spelling) from what i can tell it is bacterial conjunctavitus from research. Does anyone know how serious this is and should i take my daughter to the doctor??

I have this stupid and annoying psychological disease called IBS (No need to explain what it is, if you don’t know what IBS is, you won’t be able to answer the question).
It is getting harder and harder to go to work and to socialize.
Does anyone know how to cure it? I am based in London (SW)

I am considering having hair transplant surgery at some point in the near future & would very much like to know if anyone has had the procedure done in Poland.

The reason I am considering Poland is the obvious one - cost! Surely it has to be cheaper than having it done in London or elsewhere in the UK. But what are the pros and cons? Do the consultants tend to speak English to a high enough standard? What about aftercare? How long would I have to remain in Poland? Is it possible to have a consultation done here in London & send the written report to the clinic in Poland in order to get a price estimate? And above all - are the standards comparable to the UK/US?

I am very interested in hearing from anyone who has undergone the procedure in Poland - or anyone who has left the UK & had the procedure done abroad in order to save on costs.

Please let me know if you have any experiences to share. Many thanks!

Ive always sorta.. kinda lacked energy and get tired quick. But lately ive been waking up feeling like a train wreck. All groggy feeling like a weird hang over almost. Its been like this for about a month now. Throughout the day i always feel like im tired and could use a nap. I always want to sleep. Im young by the way, 21, and actually im very athletic and fit. I workout out on a regular basis, but my diet isnt the greatest. I have had problems with my liver in the pass though. I had blood testes that came back with high LFTs and had pains in my lower right region where the liver is. I dont know if this could be related. Ive cut down tremendously with alcohol. The pass 5 months ive only drank 3 times and started dieting on occasions. Any help would be appreciated. I hate feeling liek this. You should wake up feeling refresh in the morning. For the past year I have been having a tingling sensation in the upper right quadrant of my abdomen. There is no nausea and i can feel it more when I sit and when I stand, it seems to relieve the sensation. Sometimes it causes a little bit of pain in my back and right side but nothing too severe. Now I noticed that the sensation is more frequent. I went to my GP and I have an ultrasoound scheduled tonight to see if it's gallstones. Has anyone ever had these symptoms and if so, what was your diagnosis? Thanks :)

Sometimes when I drink extra coffee or certain foods it seems the side of my mouth swells enough for me to drag my teeth accross it so as to eventually bite my mouth there when it interferes with my chewing. Is this a food allergy or what? I comes and goes. I would describe this as being in the vee of my chewing area on the outside of my mouth.

I have only ever seen examples/pictures of caucasian people with Down Syndrome -- can "non-white" people get Down Syndrome?

I am not sure how to phrase this question without seeming racist, but I'm honestly just curious.

I haven't gone to the doctor yet, but I'm not running a fever. I just have the cloudy urine, pain during urination, and sharp pain in my back where my kidneys are. What I'm curious about is what antibiotics they use to treat kidney infections (upper UTI). I have a history of upper UTI when I was younger and they would give me a combination of bactrim and septra. However, I got one while I was in college and they prescribed cipro (which is reallly expensive) When I asked the doctor if there was a generic or anything cheaper, she said that cipro was the only thing they could give for kidney infections and that bactrim was only for lower UTI like bladder infection....So which ANtibiotic is best and most cost effective!

I love the healthcare field and researching health and diseases and taking optimum care of my self and others. Every day I can not wait to research what is best for me and others healthwise and how to diagnose diseases. but I can not stand blood and guts. I get very weak in the stomach over it etc. I was thinking of becoming a nurse and hoping I would get over the blood and guts fear and I also can not stand the thought of crime violence etc. Not sure if a nurse is always surrounded by that. Would I get over it? Or if that is not a good field for me, what else could I do regarding, health and diseases etc...

It was a pelvic MRI, so the report covered a lot. The radiologist wrote, "intrahepatic dilatation noted." My dr. read the report and didn't say a word about it. So what I want to know is, is this something I should worry about? I know it has something to to with the liver.
