I get the pain in my stomach and it shoots through to my back. I start to throw up and it doesn't stop (it can go on for at least one week). I have lost between 20-30 lbs. The doctor has run all kinds of test endoscopy, colonoscopy, upper GI , checked the pancreas, liver. The test are all good. They just cant explain this vomitting and pain. Has anyone else experienced this? & how was it treated?

If so, would that imply that many physicians don't actually go to family doctors?

If they do go to family doctors, do they usually choose a colleague of theirs, or another doctor with whom they have no previous contacts?

Is there any research on whether or not physicians actually live longer or shorter than the average population? It seems like that physicians sure have much greater medical knowledge than the rest or us, but their workload may affect their health to the point that it is actually harmful to be a medical professional.

Here, I consider anyone who at least has an M.D. or equivalent to be a physician.

Hope to hear from you all, especially doctors. I know it's several questions, but I have always been curious about this question. Thanks

I guess I feel a little guilty because I am a RN. He has 5 kids and I feel like sometimes they all run over me. They have treated me terrible in the past. He has to go to the hospital tommorrow and I decided I have done enough for him and his daughter will be taking him along with her 2 little kids. I am sure he will pay, pay, pay, pay her for whatever she does for him.
Should I feel guilty?

My boyfriend, whom I love very much is an alcoholic. I am very worried about his health. He has no desire to quit drinking beer. He recently quit liqour because it caused him such severe stomach pain the last time he consumed it that it scared him.
He was introduced to beer at the age of 7 years.
He's been drinking regularly for 21 years, he is 38 years old.
He drinks daily, anywhere from 4 24 oz. beers to a 12 pack, sometimes more.
He gets severe shakes if he attempts not to drink during the day, and will purchase alcohol when the shakes start.
I know a little about alcoholism. I know it's dangerous. I don't drink myself.
I've been with my boyfriend four and one half years, he's experienced severe night time sweating since I met him. It's getting alot worse.
It's hard to get him to go to a doctor for any sickness or injury, but not impossible. I worry about liver disease. On occassion his eyes are yellow, which he attributes to tiredness. Any help. Thank you for your time.

Had severe cold for 2 weeks. Improved and 3 days later, I developed unusual sore throat on rt side. Felt like a cold sore not just inflamation. Nausea, dizziness, incredible headache started. Very sick. Saw doc onthe 2nd day of new symptoms, Monday. Rx : Z-pac and Entex. On Tuesday no improvement. Had little trouble closing rt eye. On Wednesday , mouth drooping . Called doc. I was told to continue prescription given..I was doing that already.. Thursday morn I woke up with rt facial paralysis... Went to ER. Given Prednisone Stat and Rx for an antivral and Prednisone. I was told that recovery depends on EARLY treatment. Headache, nausea, dizziness gone but I am miserable. My eye hurts.. My ear and back of ear hurts. I am scared and scarey looking.

Yah gross question, but I'm pretty down and out these days financially so I think I can resolve this on my own. I've had it for about 2 weeks, but it went away for a few days. I'm thinking it's hemroids or palypes(spelling). Can I just drink ensure or eat soup to resolve the issues? The blood is on the brighter side which I have researched means that it's not from my colon or higher up in my intestines. I can feel that there is something closer towards the end. I don't have health insurance so I think I can just resolve this by eating less solids.

My cat has a tick and it's imbedded into his skin. I touched it many times just petting him before I realized it was there. I washed my hands right after i realized he had one. If the tick is carrying the disease can I be infected just from coming in contact with the butt of the tick? and is it curable?? Also do ticks really carry rabies? Thanks!

I have been suffering from these horrible migraines that cause me to go paralyzed for five years now. Usually is it just my arm and leg that is affected, however, the other day when I was trying to sleep off the migraine, I went paralyzed in my lungs. For the last year and a half, I have been suspecting that I have been going paralyzed in my sleep, but my doctors and neurologists just ignore me. This is getting to be very frustrating. And the other night when I couldn't breathe, it scared the tar out of me. It felt like the chest was being crushed. Does anybody else have migraines like this?? What does your neurologist say? Please help!!

We went to ER yesturday with high fever and vimoting. The doc. said it's ear infection but my son doesn't feel any pain in his ears. How come? I know it can be very painfull. He had that before and it was different story ,but than again he had not much fever.

Now after forsing him to take tilenol his temp. get down to 100 F (from 102.3 , yesturday was even 104.1) but there is no way I can make him to take antibitics the doc. prescribed and than again should I if the ear doesn't bother him?
The fever will not go away from antibiotics right?
Could this be something else?
Well what do You think people?

I'm giving a speech on pro stem cell research. My classmates have replied to my claims saying there are no results of a cure, or evidence showing the potential of a cure, yet. I don't believe this is true, but I've found weak evidence proving otherwise so far. All I've found is scientists claiming this research may lead to a cure, which isn't very specific. If you know of any evidence or supportive claims that prove stem cell research may lead to a cure than it would be very appreciated it you would please share. Thanks!

It feels as if my heart is beating all over my body and the inside is shaking. It is quite frightening and last for hours. I have been to the doctor and he does not know what the problem is. It seems to be getting worse as time goes on. I stay away from caffeine and am not under stress.
