look at it this way, warm accelerates circulation cold restricts it.. so it depends on what you want to do heal or reduce swelling. pink eye can be treated with cholloidal silver from you local health supply store.doctors used to use it before anti biotics.. it works differently than a/b it restricts the enzyme that allows the bacteria to breathe, thereby suffocating and killing the bac..good luck

Cold will help shrink the blood vessels and reduce the swelling.

Warm will do the opposite.
