Other - Diseases - November 2006

He was diagnosed when he was 16 and had what he thought was a pimple under his ear. He also lost hair on top his head the size of a dime. He is 23 now, is doing about the same. I worry because he is not under a doctors care for the lupus. I know it is not just going away on its own. Any suggestions would be very much appreciated. Thanks!

ever time I breath it feels like Im in a room full of smoke,and it makes me chogh, Its like I run out of air, and when I laugh the middle section of my chest hurts , like theres a ball in between my lungs that wont let them expand.when I sleep on myright said I cant breath.

I dont smoke
Im not fat
I dont do drugs or drink
I havent done any intens activitys latly

can some one tell me whats wrong with me

my stepmom works at a doctors office that works with open urine samples and she handles these samples with her bare hands with no gloves on, say some urine should fall into a cut or slice or what not on her, could she be infected with whatever is in that certain sample?

about one month ago i had unproteced sex and my downstairs region is letting off this wierd funky smell. i take a shower in the morning and a bath at night. after i dry off a hour later i can smell that wierd stank still. i am scared to go the doctors. i know it wasn't smart but hey it felt good. anywho is there something wrong with me? someone please help!!!!!!!

I am in the 9th grade and my right hand shakes quite often. This has been happening since at least 7th grade.I was doing reserch on different types of seizures and one of the symtoms of a certian type of seizure is shakeing hands/arms. Could I be haveing seizures and not even know it?

also when they are hypoventilating...they all get hold of a paper bag and tell them to breath in and out, surly there would be a lack of oxygen and they wouldnt be able to breath at all?

i hurd that it might swell alot...but it doesn't really hurt. and i hurd from alot of people that getting your ears pierced hurts more. is that true? my friends parents is going to sign for it because my parents will only let me get it done when im 18. but i know that when i get it done my parents are definitly going to see it when i talk. but is all this worth it? will the pain go away, if there is any?

I have recently been diagnosed with ibs and have only recently got married. My husband and i were keen to start a family as soon as possible but had glandular fever which i am now just getting over if i dont over do things but my stomach has been playing up which the doc has diagnosed as IBS. This year i have moved house, got married, and i have a stressful job i also teach dancing. I have now given up work for the foreseeable future to let my body recupperate and get back to normal and hopefully not being stressed will help. In all other aspects of life we are ready to have a family and are in a good position. Does anyone have any advice and does anyone know if a baby can be harmed if the mother has ibs or had glandular fever. We want to make sure we're doing the right thing. Sorry for going on a bit

My co-worker was diagnosed with ALS (Lou Gehrig's disease) at 45. ALS is a terrible disease that slowly disables a person's body while leaving the brain intact - trapped in a body-shaped prison. Death usually occurs within 4 years of diagnosis when the brain is unable to control the muscles necessary for respiration. My co-worker has a 13 year old daughter and was recently told he'll have to start using a wheel chair and get a feeding tube (throat muscles aren't working reliably any more). I feel terribly sad and "I'm sorry" just doesn't cut it. What words of encouragement can I give him to help him enjoy the last bit of time he has left (we're all atheists here, so please focus on life, not the possibility of an after-life). Thanks.

i've been to the hospital for it and they said it could be appendicitis so they gave me medicine and it went away , now it comes back when ever it feels like it... that cant be normal

Once and awhile I will experience a weird problem with my hands or feet.

One hand will be feel really hot, internally and to the touch, and the other will be icy cold. Same thing happens with my feet, one will be hot and the other, cold. Then it will switch.

Sometimes my hands will be really hot, but my feet will be cold, and vice versa. This usually happens more when I am at my desk at work typing or using the mouse, or if I happen to play a video game and use a two-handed controller.

Any thoughts?

does anyone every get sharp needle pain under their boob left side and sharp needle pain in left armpit or arm stomach pain like nauseas not falling asleep pain but needle sharp pain like pinching.Thanks.ekgs and chest xray fine someimes loss of breath or throat tight or pressure ?From anxiety gas nerve pain throbbing in neck or arm but not really pain nausea in upper stomach.
