I have recently been diagnosed with ibs and have only recently got married. My husband and i were keen to start a family as soon as possible but had glandular fever which i am now just getting over if i dont over do things but my stomach has been playing up which the doc has diagnosed as IBS. This year i have moved house, got married, and i have a stressful job i also teach dancing. I have now given up work for the foreseeable future to let my body recupperate and get back to normal and hopefully not being stressed will help. In all other aspects of life we are ready to have a family and are in a good position. Does anyone have any advice and does anyone know if a baby can be harmed if the mother has ibs or had glandular fever. We want to make sure we're doing the right thing. Sorry for going on a bit

I too have IBS, and two healthy sons. I would only suggest you let your body heal fully from the fevers and such before you consider pregnancy. Wait a year from the wedding at least before you go for parenthood.

Take a look at this link for celiac disease, which is often misdiagnosed as IBS http://digestive.niddk.nih.gov/ddiseases/pubs/celiac/

If that sounds like something that's matching up with your symptoms, visit www.glutenfreeforum.com for more information or to ask any questions you might have.

I first had symptoms of celiac when I was 17, right after I had mono (also called glandular fever). I was sick, and getting sicker for years up until I was diagnosed less than a year ago at age 35.

Celiac symptoms often start during or after a period of high stress or illness. With all of the things you've done in the last year, with mono on top of it, I wouldn't be surprised.

Hope that helps.

Both my mom and I have IBS. She did not enjoy any difference in her signs throughout her pregnancies. I'm simplest 18 so have not had any infants however I can suppose why you're involved. You must spend money on Colpermin. :) I used to be placed on such a lot of prescription treatment that did not paintings then I determined colpermin which does not even desire a prescription and it really works amazingly! You must regularly ask your health care professional earlier than you're taking any of this treatment!

¿Intestino irritable?
