No known cures right now, but a myriad of treatments are out there. They have a different measure of success in treating the symptoms and staving off or lessening the severity of an episode depending on the severity of the epilepsy. People with severe epilepsy have to try many different kinds of treatment sometimes, just to find the one that works best for them. These treatments have come a long way and work quite well for most people. I knew a guy who had it real bad. He kept trying everthing until he finally found one that worked for him.

I had epilpesy for 39 years and was Cured. I went in for the brain surjery and they removed my right temporal lobe and since then I've had no seizures and am on own living and driving a car. So don't give up and if your doctor knows where the seizures are coming from get the surjery. I'm glad I went in for the surjery as I have a new lease on life.

I'v had epilepsy for 24 yrs. and no, there is no cure for epilepsy but it can be well controlled with meds (mine is controlled with lamictal) however, some cases are severe and are harder to control.
