my stepmom works at a doctors office that works with open urine samples and she handles these samples with her bare hands with no gloves on, say some urine should fall into a cut or slice or what not on her, could she be infected with whatever is in that certain sample?

Absolutely poor judgment on her part. I work at a hospital and each year we have to go through yearly educational services about contamination. Urination and feces is the bodies way of removing waste from the body, including contaminates. Gloves are a necessity when working with body fluids.

You mean hepatitis, AIDS, or bacterial infections? Yes most definitely she could be infected. As a nurses aide she should already know this. The doctor she works for should never allow her to in the first place.

The more we try to educate the masses the more we fail.
