The stress in our life and marriage has been pretty unbarable. My husband seems to be addictive in nature, he used to smoke, I made him quit, he started drinking caffine in mass amounts (2-4 red bulls a day) and finally he stopped that (although he still drinks too much coke and coffee) now, since he has to work all the time and full time school, he has taken to drinking a lot. He'll go through over half a huge bottle of rum and at least a six pack of beer in a week. I've been trying to tell him he is turning into an alcoholic and should quit now before it gets worse, but he thinks it's stupid. He's really really stubborn, he never listens and thinks he has complete control over his body, so addiction to him is just not possible. What can I do to keep him from becoming and alcoholic? He's drinking more and more each week...

I was just denied insurance coverage due to an elevated level of alkaline phosphatase in my liver. I am on medication for high cholesterol (Zocor 40 mg daily). I have been on Zocor 6 years. I take a liver lipid panel blood test every three months and have not been told there is any liver damage. As advised by my doctor I have lost 50 pounds and I am maintaining my desired weight of 175 pounds. I lost the weight and maintain my weight by a healthy diet eating little red meat or fatty foods (no junk foods, limited carbs). When I inquired on the internet it mentioned biliary tract disease. During an ultrasound test 2 years ago it was discovered I have small gallstones. I was given no indication pro or con to have them removed. I have noticed on the Internet the gallbladder is associated with an obstruction in the biliary tract. I have an enlarged liver. I do not drink. My paternal grandmother had an enlarged liver and spleen and died from pancreatic cancer at 83. I am a 53 year old male.

I have recently been prescribed oxycontin for chronic nerve pain, that nothing else has successfully treated. It's helping a lot with the pain, but the side effects - nausea, dizziness are awful. I've heard they are temporary. Anyone have any advice for me?

My dad has had a few gran mal seizures which were bad and he bit his tongue. Before he actually started having seizures he would have these black outs that only lasted a few seconds. Has anyone else experienced these black outs and are these seizures? He is now taking Dilantin and Keppra to try to prevent the seizures.

I have been told by my doctor I have an enlarged liver. I do not drink any alcoholic beverages. I have what is called a nonalcoholic liver syndrome. What causes this and what if anything can be done to correct or improve this condition. I do know my grandmother (also a nondrinker) had an enlarged liver. I am on cholesterol medication (Zacor). I have lost 50 pounds, eat a very nutritious diet to try to reduce my bad cholesterol level (little to no red meats). Any suggestions for me? Thank you.

My boyfriend was just diagnosed with Graves Disease, and he has been put on medication, two different meds, not sure the name. We had been wondering for a while why he was shaking so much, his heart was pounding, and his eyes began buldging. Here is the problem, He is incarcerated for the next 33 months, and is only able to obtain minimal information about everything, including his disease, from in there, there are just not enough resorces. I want to learn everything I can, and send him in all the info I can, so that he will be ok, and less stressed, and when he comes home, we can have a long happy life together. Can anyone please help??????
