I have osteoathritis. I have severe pain 24/7.. I am now drinking apple cider vinegar every day. I hear it helps.....Why am I in so much pain. Also, my right hip grinds every time I walk. Is there something I can do, to ease that. Can you save the "cushion" if you have any left?

I just want to thank everyone for your answers and being as honest as you can be. I really appreciate it!! I had no idea about this, except that my mom has it also. I am ANA positive too, with RA negative.

I also have osteoarthritis and am in pain the same as you My Doctor has put braces on my knees and wrists and they seem to be helping. one thing that I can tell you is the weather plays a big part in how much pain I have. this is hard to hear but the fact is pain management and keeping the joints loosened up with exercise is all you can do

Apple cider isn't really going to do a whole lot if you really have osteoarthritis. This disease is caused by your own immune system. Your immune system starts to attack your own joints causing inflammation and eroding away at the joints, thats why you are in so much pain. You will need to supress the immune system so that it is now so active. There are many many different treatments avilable. Sulfasalazine and Methotrexate are the most common and suppress the immune system. Remicaide is also an immunosuppressant and has had great success for those with a severe condition. See a rheumatologist and get proper treatment so that you can slow the damage to your joints. I too have arthritis along with some other rheumatological disorders.

I found this medical article but don't know if it applies to you. I think you should read it, anyway. I also believe that you should visit a specialist. Take care and good luck.

Osteoporosis is a condition most commonly seen in women that often begins with the loss of bone density around the time of menopause. Osteoporosis increases the chance of broken bones, painful fractures and can increase the chance of death. To help prevent this condition, an increase in calcium intake and weight bearing exercises are important.

There are several osteoporosis medications available to both prevent and treat osteoporosis. Bisphosphonates like alendronate (Fosamax) and risedronate (Actonel) have been shown to reduce bone loss and the risk of fractures. However, these medications are poorly absorbed and must be taken on an empty stomach with lots of water.

Raloxifene (Evista) is used to prevent and treat osteoporosis. It reduces bone loss and the risk of back fractures. Calcitonin (Miacalcin or Calcimar) is a nasal spray that reduces the risk of back fractures in those with osteoporosis.

This is simply the result of your immune system attacking 'good' cells because it cannot recognise them as such. It is an 'autoimmune disease. In turn, this is because you lack a few complex carbohydrates. These can be very easily replaced, you just need to know where to look.

CAUTION: be careful what you drink because there are 'rumours' that it may be good for you. Anything containing Aspartame is a potential killer and immune function disruptor.

Get Aspartame and Caffeine out of your system. Drink at least 2 litres of still bottled mineral water daily (anyone who tells you this is a hype has no idea what they are talking about).

Drugs and chemicals 'might' relieve some symptoms, and will serve only to exacerbate the problem simply because it is scientific fact that they overload immune function unnecessarily.

The science involved with the replacement of missing complex carbohydrates has four Nobel Prizes to its credit, as well as 350,000 scientific papers written in its acclaim.

Hope you find what you clearly need.

Glucosamine long term is the best for any arthritis. In most people it takes about 3 months to notice a difference and a year to actually have the cartilage start rebuilding. There is a company that has a patented version with natural anti-inflammatory agents in it that usually works much faster and is only $10 for a months supply.

Osteo BiFlex, a glucosamine chondroitin combination, might help. It helps regrow cartilage between joints. You can buy it in the vitamin section of stores. It will usually take about a month to notice a difference. It has made a world of difference in my aches.

I heard vinegar is not good for bones...is that a homemade remedy? I would ask a doctor what is good, i would personally take calcium supplements, or the stuff for joints.
