Any cures in the world for this deadly disease?

I have hepatitis c virus, genotype 1a. I just went through my year of treatment and have had a negative pcr since my first test at week twelve. I had a viral load over 2 million before treatment.
I know that with genotype 1a I have only a 40% chance of staying negative. I go for my three month after treatment pcr in two weeks. I feel very apprehensive about that test.
Has anyone here had hcv, genotype 1a and gone through treatment and achieved a sustained viral response after stopping treatment?

Banned together to tackle one problem at a time.
Cancer, AIDS
There would be hundreds of intelligent people all focusing on one problem trying new things until there was a solution
Only problem would be how would you figure which problem to tackle first. How can you say this social issue or disease is more important than another?

Just kidding. Don't get mad. Anyways...I have been having a sore throat for about a week now. It hasn't been all that bad, mostly hurting only in the mornings and at night. Today it hurts a little worse, but I still hadn't thought anything of it. Anyways, one of my wisdom teeth are coming in and it was hurting me, so I looked at it in the mirror, and instead noticed a big white bump on one of my tonsils. I figure this is the beginning of some kind of "itis". Any ideas? (I would just go to the doctor, but I am broke, and I don't think it's really all that big of a deal.) Thanks!

'Clinical trial' is often mentioned in HIV/AIDS prevention studies. You will also find mentions of terms like: clinical management of STI (sexually transmitted infecions) and HIV.

Okay, I've checked online and stuff, but most of what i find in regards to this specifically is only "it varies per age and person." Which doesn't help.
So, here's my question:
I was wondering, if someone got HIV at a young age (let's say 7-9) and it went undetected for about 10 years, when it was detected, would it be full blown AIDS? Or advanced HIV w/ symptoms? Or is this scenario just not likely at all?
