You couldn't have gotten 2 sets of hepatitis c shots because they don't exist. You probably got 1 set of hepatitis a and 1 set of hepatitis b

Just to clarify things a bit. There is no vaccine against hepatitis C. There are vaccines against hepatitis B & A. Hepatitis C can only be transferred through blood to blood contact, which is why sex is usually not the case. Most who have hep C got it from blood transfusions, IV Drug use use, sharing a razor or toothbrush, but the blood of an infected person or thing must enter the victim through a cut or opening to the blood. The vaccine for hep A is one shot and for hep B is a series of 3 shots, so I don't know what you were given, but it could not have been a hep C vaccination.

that last answer was pretty ignorant.
how do you know this person is not a health care worker that got infected with a needle stick?
that is the most common way for hepatitis transmission... health care workers getting stuck with needles by infected patients.
are you sure you were not vaccinated for hep b & not hep C?
the hep B series is a series of 3 shots, not 2. so if you only got 2, you didn't get the full dose of immunity.
* sorry about your problem, but unfortunately vaccines dont always protect us 100% of the time, they do decrease our risk quite a bit though. i was vaccinated for measles & mumps as a child, but still got the diseases...

There is no vaccine for Hep C. All Hepatitis is caused by different things, from infected blood to improperaly prepared food. Hep B is the one transmitted though blood, saliva, mucus membranes, and sexual fluids.

There are no "shots" against Hep C. There are shots to prevent for Hep. A and Hep. B only.

There is not a vaccine available yet for HCV.
I would assume you meant HBV. If they did not keep you from getting it, there could be a chance you were infected with HCV.
Hepatitis C infected run the chance of "failing to develope antibodies to Hepatitis B vaccines" by 49%.
I am not clear on why this is possible as both viruses are different - HBV is a DNA virus, while HCV is an RNA virus.
Have you been tested for HCV?
