Just kidding. Don't get mad. Anyways...I have been having a sore throat for about a week now. It hasn't been all that bad, mostly hurting only in the mornings and at night. Today it hurts a little worse, but I still hadn't thought anything of it. Anyways, one of my wisdom teeth are coming in and it was hurting me, so I looked at it in the mirror, and instead noticed a big white bump on one of my tonsils. I figure this is the beginning of some kind of "itis". Any ideas? (I would just go to the doctor, but I am broke, and I don't think it's really all that big of a deal.) Thanks!

Might well be strep throat. If so, it's very important to treat it with an antibiotic so that it won't cause permanent heart damage. You need to go to the doctor or a clinic and have a strep test, which is not expensive and is very fast. Then they can prescribe an antibiotic if you need one.

Careful, it might be strep throat. If so, it can be highly contagious. A worst case scenario is that it could develop into meningitis. If it gets any worse, see a doctor. If you can't afford to see your regular doctor, call your local health department about low cost clinics in the area.

Gargling with salt water is a good idea. It could be strep, it could also be your sinuses draining especially if you have allergies. Try the salt water and if it isn't better in a day or two borrow the money for the doctors or see if they will bill you for your appt.

If you believe in home remedies like I do....then your best bet is to gargle with warm salt water.......and also hydrogen peroxide as many times in a day as you can stand it.....these are natural antibiotics that will kill the germs. Listerine is also good. Take ibuprofren (Advil) to keep the inflamation down. Drink lots of water even though it hurts. Hope this helps

It sounds like strep throat but it is not normal to have it for longer than a week (that is if you have been treating it...if you haven't then TREAT IT with throat lozenges! They help a ton!)
Hope that this works 4 U!

I think that you need to get to a Dr. Those white spots indicate a more serious infection. You cannot afford to not take care of yourself.

You know there's is home remedies...but my suggestion is to borrow money and go to the doctor. Why because you maybe contagious to other people or worse you could be really sick and not know it. So just go. Or go to www.webmd.com
