the other day i woke up with pain in my chest/heart it was like knives and thorns in my heart i think i felt it 3-5 times in the same half minute and m only 15...so what could it be?should i tell my parents?should i see a doctor?

My heart seems like it stops for a slight moment then restarts. It use to happen rarely like when was I running a mile or exercising. Recently it seems like it has been happening every 5 minutes or so. I also found out that my dad has a heart murmur(not sure if that is the correct term, but it is something about his heart beating strangely) I'm only 15 by the way....

hi i have lots of test and all seems ok but have to have the die next to see if my arteries are ok i get out of breath a lot and very tired and a lot of pain seems to come and go but can be there a lot so i take asprin and my spray as when i need to which is a lot now i just dont know what to do now till i get this test done is there anyone out ther that can give me any advice please

When I was pregnant earlier this year I had to go to the emergency room for chest pain...they diagnosed it as heartburn. Then about a month ago I had to go in again, and they diagnosed it as acid reflux. Anyway, my question is, how long can heartburn last, before I should go to a health clinic or even the hospital? It's been almost 8 hours with 2 quick naps I could get in. Any help/remedies is appreicated, but I can't keep anything down (tried alka-seltzer and pepcid). Thanks

go to gym 3 times a week, only drink red wine no other alcohol, dont smoke, eat healthy, try to get 8 hrs sleep anight and my resting heart rate is around 100 bpm and sometimes it feels like it is going twice this even when im sitting still

I just had my physical exam and the ecg revealed a sinus rhythm and poor r-wave progression. My blood pressure has dropped from 145/100 to 117/89 in a month's time after taking simvastatin and xenical together. Should I stop the zocor and the other hypertension meds like norvasc and co-approvel or just lower the dosage or strength of my meds? My appointment with the cardiologist wont be until late next week. I am not experiencing any pains except for feeling a something pushing down my back when I swallow food.

Smoking pot has always made my heart beat faster...The last time I smoked pot (May 2004) My heartrate raced up to 160 beats a minute and would not slow down until about four hours later, when the drug wore off. Then I had chest pains. This scared me.Needless to say I decided never again to smoke pot. Later I found out on the internet that there is a link between smoking pot and heart attacks... have you ever heard of this?

The first replacement surgery didnt happen as planned. My stenotic bicuspid aortic valve had stopped growing when I was a teen, however, this was unknown at the time of the surgery. The surgen had to put in a rather small mechanical valve. This has since been causing me problems, now another surgen says that he can cut away a piece of the heart to fit a larger mechanical valve. How common is this surgery? Has anyone had this done?
