There could be many reasons for your problem, starting from ‘idiopathic’, implying that there is no known cause for it. It can also happen because of prolonged standing, or anaemia, which can easily be corrected. You maybe have to worry for your heart, liver and the kidneys, as once their performance decreases, swelling starts appearing over the feet. Stop alcohol, if you a regular with it as it can be a result of early liver failure consequent to cirrhosis. Consult a doctor, who will ask you to undergo a battery of tests to get the picture of your heart, liver and the kidneys.

I cannot say that psoriosis is the cause unless the psoriosis in on your feet.
How ever if you are having problems with your feet swelling then you may NOT be as healthy as you think.
I would make an appointment to be checked out.
In the mean time, watch how much fluid you are drinking, and pay attention if you seem to be going to the bathroom a lot, or a little.
The doctor will want to know that.
Also if you do any activities are you becoming unusually short of breath.
:o)

Swelling in the feet can be a temporary problem and hopefully also the psoriasis. So, put your feet up and eliminate all salt from your diet. Make an appointment with your regular physician for a check up. It sounds like it is time for a tune-up but not time for a trade-in just yet. Be sure to explain all your symptoms and bring questions with you so that you can get the most out of your appointment (and also the most out of life.....50 should be only half-way there!).

Seeing a cardiologist is a good idea. You should also ask about and consider cellulitis related to the psoriasis. The constant itching and scabbing can produce an infection in the skin that can cause the swelling. Best bet: check it out with the doc! Hope this helps. Jeff the nurse in Nashville.

It sounds like you've been under some stress. Psoriasis break outs commonly occur in peopel who have it when they're going through a challenging time. It also sounds like the stress may have affected your heart. If you can depress your thumb in your swollen lower legs and still see that indenture, you need to see your cardiologist -- espceically if this is new.
Make an appointment as soon as possible. In the meantime, reduce your sodium intake, relax more, expose your psoriasis to the sun and drink plenty of water.

Take ECG and consult a cardiologist. Swelling in the feet may be a symptom of heart or kidney disease. For kidney disease, you have to take microalbuminurea test.
Please see the webpages for more details on Heart failure and Nephrotic syndrome.

Always check with your Doctor. It may simply be the heat, but its always best to check. Keep your feet up for a few hours.
