Stroke is devastating, even when "mild." I felt tired all the time for about two years, and I still have some minor problems after 8 years.

Don't be ashamed to ask for help with the kids - you'll need your energy for healing. But the good news is that for some of us at least, there is improvement over a fairly long period of time, so even if you don't see much progress now, there could be improvement later.

I haven't really answered your question - just wanted to express solidarity and wish you luck.

First get educated regarding signs and symptoms. Start taking your blood pressure twice a day or more and know what numbers are bad. Take meds exactly as prescribed. Find an outlet for stress. Start walking for excersize. Eat healthy lose weight if you need to. But most of all thank god you are alive. Your vision may get better. Consider an anti depressant and/or anti anxiety medication. I lost the father of my children to stroke after he lingered for five years. Don't let this happen to you or your children and loved ones. Good luck.

You should start taking Aspirins, 100 mg daily. Seems like you just might have suffered a thromboembolism. Are you a regular with hormones supplementation or taking ‘pills’? Stop them immediately and if ‘pills’ were being taken for preventing pregnancy, start using other methods to prevent it rather than the pills. Get yourself checked up by an expert and get your sugar, cholesterol and maybe an echocardiography also for any valvular abnormality of the heart, which could lead to such a problem as yours. Do not forget to get your legs examined for deep vein thrombosis while you are with your doctor.
