I am a 19year old male who plays sports regularly and is not overweight. I seem to get chest pain right around my heart after eating large meals, it feels like sharp little pains. I had a blood test recently for no specific reason but all my fat/cholesterol/electrolyte levels were normal, and i dont know what could be the cause of this. Maybe i have a partially occluded vessel? I would say that i eat okay, not too healthy as i order out about 2-3times per week.

if your arm is above your heart, is there less pressure because the blood is going down to your heart? and is this therefore not a valid reading?

I suffered heart attack on 25th December and the clot was removed by the medicine Urokinase. After 5 days I was discharged. After one month Angiogram was done and a block was detected in an artery near LAD which is 95%. Doctors say that urgent PTCA has to be done. Can the block be removed only by medicines. Also after PTCA how much improvement of heart functioning is possible. Present ejection fraction is 25 to 30%.

I had an ultrasound stress test and everything was normal. I use to jog a lot but after finding out that I have unspecified st depressions on my ekg reading I have been scared to do anything strenous. Should I be worried about this at all? Does this mean I am more proned to heart disease in the future? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

meanwhile, my electric omron home blood pressure checker constantly borders around 140 over 75. also at clinics, on their electric blood pressure checkers, it reads the same.

What is going on?

My one doctor said sometimes the cuffs are too tight on them. I have been working out a lot, bicep curls in particular. could it be that my biceps are too big for the machine?

Educated answers only please.

I had my blood pressure taken today at the doctor's office, before seeing the doctor. I'd say I was moderately to highly agitated at the time, becaues I was seeing my ob/gyn and I always tend to get agitated thinking about these exams. :0

However, despite my emotional state, my blood pressure reading was only 120/74! Would it be logical to say that if my blood pressure is "normal" when I'm upset and nervous, that it's probably below-normal when I'm going about my daily (non-upsetting) life activities? :)

I've never had a problem with high blood pressure, so this isn't about that. I'm just kind of amazed that my BP doesn't shoot up when I'm all nervous. And it makes me wonder what the heck my BP is like when I'm RELAXED!

Thoughts, anyone? :)

My dad had a heart bypass surgery on the 22nd of January, they found pneumonia AFTER 2nd day of his recovering,he is on antibiotics and morphine for the pain.He is also on oxygen because he has much sputum that he is slowly trying to get out and that i believe disrupts his breathing. He is barely EVER opened eyed when i take mom to see him.Yesterday he was able to write us a note saying "everything tires him out". Does anyone know why this is? Thank you.
