Try eating more foods rich in Vitamin B12 or go get a multivitamin B complex supplement (tablets). This will probably help with your heart palpitations. Try pork, beef, liver, red meat, clams, dried peaches, farina, egg yolks, oysters, nuts, beans, asparagus, molasses, oatmeal or spirulina. Spirulina is a sea vegetable not unlike kelp or nori in tablet form. Ask at your local health food store. Its full of easily assimilable iron and protein.

Actually, I've had "heart related symptoms" for 4 years now, but I tend to feel the worst when I've gotten into bed. Heart pounding, a little shortness of breath and sometimes even chest pains. See a doctor! I've had muplitple test and found out I have a 90% blockage in my left coronary artery and I'm only 23! I'm having an angioplasy with stenting on Monday actually and was put off work untill a repeat test one week following the cardiac cath. When it comes to your heart, better safe than sorry!

This is more likely than not to simply be a minor anxiety attack. Unfortunately, it has a tendency to be self reinforcing -- the more it happens, the more anxious about it you become, and so the more it happens.

Fortunately, if this is really what's going on, it's not serious -- just intensely annoying.

See a doctor to eliminate any underlying organic causes, and then consider any kind of relaxation techniques (yoga, meditation, etc.) to break the cycle of anxiety-reinforcement.
