Whenever I got to the Dr. my bp shoots up rather high bottom number in the low 90's.
However I do have a home bp montior and it's always fine at home.
Does this happen to anyone else. Am I just nervous being at the Dr.
My Dr hasn't gave me anything for high bp cuz he seems to think it's just coz I am at the Dr.

A little about me
I am 32 female.
A little over weight. Overall health is fine

I was told on Tuesday that i have "mitral valve prolapse" and that i inherited it and that i will be fine. Well i take toporol xl 50 mg because the mitral valve prolapse makes my heart beat fast. For the past week i have noticed that my chest/lungs get tight, kind of like i have congestion in my chest, it comes and goes and sometimes its really bad and sometimes i can tolerate it. Is this normal for someone with the mitral valve condition. My cardiologist didn't go into details about the symptoms and i'm wondering if i should go see another doctor. I do have a sniffly nose and was wondering if this could be symptoms of a cold or something else. Any one out their with my condition having the same problems??? If so what is it???

I am in Baghdad & need advice ASAP. I'm a 48 y/o female & I've always had good health, but 3 weeks ago, I got a sudden nosebleed for no apparant reason. When I applied pressure to stop the bleed, I could feel it pulsing down my throat. The bleed was from both nostrils & really scared me. I had my BP checked the next day, & it was high (133/100). I was given a diuretic for 2 days, but when it didn't help, a BP med was given. It has worked until today. I've felt breathless all day and my heart keeps skipping beats. My vision has been blurring a little also lately. I went to the clinic & the nurse told me all she could do was send me home as unfit for duty (unpaid leave). I work for a civilian company & the military recently said we can't use their docs anymore, so our company nurse gave me the meds. I don't want to have to go back to the States if it's not something serious, but I don't want to die over here over from something that could be prevented, either. Any docs here with advice?

I've taken Zaroxylyn & torsemide for a few months. Strangely, the water packed and sitting in the tissue spaces has never subsided, and diuretics produce ony a minor urination. But this trapped water from edema of CHF, what or how can drain or pull it out of the spaces in the thighs, feet, ankles, calves, & abdomen where it sits with bursting pressure.? I am told by Mds that it traversed the capillaries within the tissues and filled those spaces. But once this hAPPENS, really how can diuretics bring it out in urination.? Someone please explain. I developed CHF post MASSIVE MI - my ejection fraction is 50% - I have global hypokinesis and severely reduced left ventricular systolic function. I live in extreme torments from liver swollen with fluid and thighs to feet, under extreme water pressure from within. IF God would take me tonite , it would be an act of mercy and my fondest desire. CHF also makes nausea for drink & food, can't recline & sleep. slight exertion gives gasping.

Also, if my right carotid artery ever became blocked and needed to be replaced, could they do that? or not?

My blood pressure has been taken several times over the past few years - over five years ago it was 160 systolic and the doc then muttered 'that's stroke level'. In the past couple of years it's been up and down and they even put me on a 24 hour monitor last year (which didn't work properly). I've been again today and the reading was 180/100. The nurse said to come back in 4 weeks and she will take it again and if it is still as high, she'll refer me back to the doc. I stopped smoking 12 months ago and weigh 13.5 stone (about 190 lbs). Should I be concerned about the readings - and about the fact that the medics are shilly-shallying around. Should I insist on them doing something more - even if it is only medication - or just wait until the next test in four weeks time?

I'm 22 years old. For the past few months I've been having chest pains on the left side up where my heart is and sometimes down lower where i think my liver is. They've been getting a lot more frequent lately (almost daily). When it happens i usually get a panic attack and anxiety that lasts for hours as well as weird muscle spasms. A lot of the times i'm relaxed at night in bed and just as i'm about to fall asleep it feels like my heart stops or skips a beat or has a quick pain and i sit up quickly and gasp a big breath as if something scared me then i get anxiety from it and i get the shakes for a long time. All of these conditions seem to worsen the day after i drink (which is 2-3 times a week). Any idea what could be wrong?
