some heart problems can be seen with blood work. Such as the following tests, CPK with MB, SGOT, you may also have electrolyte imbalance that would also be seen and that could cause heart problems. How ever if you feel uneasy or scared have your parents take you to the emergency room.

No they wouldn't show up in blood test normally. You need to go in and have a stress test done ASAP. This could be a major problem and just because your 17 doesn't mean anything. It could be a heart valve leaking or it could be a weak heart muscle but you need to get it checked right away. Don't let some doctor try and discourage you from the stress test, you should have it done. BTW, if you get the pains when you are exerting yourself or just when you are setting around makes a difference. Sometimes an ulcer can mimic a heart attack.

Not particularly, for your heart you should have an ECG and if there's anything suspicious than the can perform an Echo Doppler Test to see how the blood flow is. Go back to the Doctor and don't wait too long. It could just be stress (if you experiencing some) or anxiety or something serious. An ECG will tell.
Good Luck

I had the same problem, you may have wolf parkinson white syndrome a condition where you have an extra electical pathway to your heart, it WPW as it is known also can cause a rapid pulse, the only way to diagnose your condition is to have an EKG done, make sure you get it done by a qualified doctor also it took 3 ER visits for the doctors to finally get my condition correct

Are u under stress or do u have any anxiety going on. U need to see a doctor to see what's really going on.Well if u had heart work done, than nothing is going on with your heart. You maybe want to try something for anxiety. Are u probably just have Acid reflux as well. Try something for gas, than if that doesn't work. Go to your doctor for something for anxiety.

Blood work doesn't find everything. A doctor should listen to your heart and maybe do an ECG.
Since you're so young so, chances are you may be having anxiety attacks.

This sounds like my daughter. She has this on a daily basis. Did you recently start a new job or have a big assignment due in school?? Two things come to mind and that would be anxiety and acid reflux. But please follow up with your doctor and at your age you could probably go see an internist.

ive been having those pains for years, and i finally got blood work done to check my cholestoral and platelet count. turns out, my cholestoral is dangerously high, at 292! ive been having heart pains for years, and since im only 19, if i would have had it checked years ago, i wouldnt be in such a predicament. get it checked out, the agony of finding out your in dangerous levels is not something you want to deal with. and im only 5'2" 100 lbs, so i was shocked. good luck.
