As a healthcare provider I tell my patients that low blood pressure is considered too low whenever it causes problems....like continued episodes of dizziness or even near fainting. The goal of healthy blood pressure is 120/80 or less. Too high blood pressure is defined by numbers. Too low blood pressure is defined by symptoms.

the normal blood pressure is 120/80, but with low blood pressure, depending on the body someone could have 90/50 and be fine. Low blood pressure should be considered when signs and symptoms such as dizziness, light-headedness and fainting

Some people have low blood pressure because it is in their genetics. Others have low blood pressure because they are healthy or because they are runners/athletes. I say 80/50 is borderline and should be considered on the low side. It also depends on the individual. If they are not having any symptoms like dizziness, fainting or similar problems then they may be fine. Always consult your physician if you think their is a problem.
