you would need to take a class on how to apply monitors to patients and then after passing your job would be to sit in front of a bank of monitors and watch them for any abnormalities,you would also learn how to perform an EKG ad at the hospital i work at draw bloods..since we upgraded our monitors a tech doesn't sit for the entire 8 hour shift but they are responsible for printing and interpreting a monitor strip for each patient and clearing the ectopy from the memory...our tech also do vital signs
