meanwhile, my electric omron home blood pressure checker constantly borders around 140 over 75. also at clinics, on their electric blood pressure checkers, it reads the same.

What is going on?

My one doctor said sometimes the cuffs are too tight on them. I have been working out a lot, bicep curls in particular. could it be that my biceps are too big for the machine?

Educated answers only please.

If a cuff is too small, your pressure can be higher. Likewise, if the cuff is too big, your pressure can be lower. Your arm should also be at your heart level when taken, pressures can fluctuate alot with arm positioning.

120 over 80 is an arbitrary goal. Just relax, keep exercising and checking your pressure. As long as it is stable and you feel good.

Frankly speaking, you should not take your own BP reading, because you get addicted to this toy. Most develop psychological compulsion or phobia, and you get all types of readings, so stick to professional advise.
