For the past few years I have been getting chest pain everyday. I get more of it and with palpitations after emotional stress or physical exertion. I've had 2 echocardiograms done and each one showed that I have no problems with the inner structure of my heart. It did show that I have some holes on the outer surface of the heart, but the doctor said that it shouldn't be a problem. He said that it is a very very rare condition in which one half of my heart is like spongy and the other is normal. But, he said it shouldn't cause me any pain, and won't affect my life. I'm in China, and the doctor didn't know the English name of my condition. Does anyone know the English name of what my heart is? But, I still get chest pain, weakness, and palpitations daily. Why? My dad has had atrial fibrillation and when he was a teenage he had similar symptoms to mine. Could my chest pain be a precursor to A-Fib or something else...or does my spongy heart condition actually cause the pain?

Hi,
My friends dad had a heart attack which was followed by heart failure. he is currently in hospital hooked up to drips and all that..and they postponed surgery because he had low blood pressure and said they would have to do it in a month. they took of the dopamine drip today and they are still trying to stablize him. they said they isn't anything else they can do and when he is stable they are going to discharge him. my question is, and i could be very limited on details here i know....what are the chances of him surviving this and being able to live a normal life? normal being able to walk, and do for himself?

oh yes and they found out he was aniemic to...

I have friends who take Lipitor for example and are not told that it must be taken with a meal. Is there some sort of reaction with the food in the case of Lovistatin or is it simply that it is more irritating to the stomach?

i was just wondering if anyone had any ideas. Since i got pregnant and had my child a little over a year and a half ago i have had a problem with high blood pressure. for about the last month ive had extreme pain in my chest - it comes out of nowhere and my heart starts pounding. you can actually see my chest pulsating and my pulse in my wrist and ankles. its really uncomfortable. Im only 23 so im not that old and im mostly healthy - nothing major - the nurse said it could be caffiene problems but i dont drink caffeine - it sets off my migraines. i was just wondering if anyone else has experienced this problem or if anyone has any ideas on what may be happening? thanks

Question Details:i have high blood pressure(i know from donating blood) i was in my doctors office about 2 weeks ago because i had strep. and i asked about my blood pressure and it was 150over78 and she said that she wanted to see me in 2 weeks. i went back 3 days ago and it was 140over76 she asked me some questions one of them was if i ever have chest pain and i do some times so she had the nurse give me an ekg the first time the nurse did it she got a really funny look on her face then she checked the leads and did it again. then my doctor came back and said that i was "probably" fine but she was going to schedule me an appointment with a cardiologist. i go to see the cardiologist in 2 days and i am a little worried because i got mixed signals. what will the cardiologist do? why the second ekg? what might be wrong with me? i am 18. thank you for any information or experiences similar to mine.

Okay here's the deal. I've seen a cardiologist twice, had an EKG, an x-ray, walked the treadmill with EKG strapped to me, and consulted over 4 doctors. Everything is NORMAL on me according to the charts.

Since November I've had pains in the chest- sometimes a nagging pain that comes and goes no matter what I am doing, whether ready to sleep or walking. I also have a feeling of the heart turning over or flipping/fluttering is best I can describe it. It's uncomfortable and seems to cause me to lose my breath momentarily. Stress and anxiety have been pointed out, but even in non anxiety moments I have them almost daily.

I am not the most fit person but I am not bad either, in fact am losing weight through walking and good eating habits. I used to drink but quit after these heart problems began. I don't smoke.

I've spent almost $600 for results that tell me "all is normal" and I know they are not, these happen when I'm least expecting it. Any thoughts? Anything similar?

Mother history: heart attacks then stroke (2000), her level of creatinnine today 3.4 last year 2.6 year before 1.6 she went in last week and blood work revealed anemia,, blood work done before, red blood cells very low, blood transfusion administered, her level was high, she had a kidney worked on 4yrs ago,, stent placed on one kidney,,not the other was to weak..My question is would there be a difference on the lab work if the blood sample was taken at a time when she was low on blood? Also where would her blood be lost at? She was taken off off LOTREL and put on NOVASC, kidney specialist claims lotrel goes through kidney while norvasc goes through liver,,,, will there be a difference on bun - creatinine.. level ? Should the doctor informed family about escalating levels, or did he wait to long?

Women should know that not every heart attack symptom is going to be
the left arm hurting. Be aware of intense pain in the jaw line.
You may never have the first chest pain during the course of a heart
attack. Nausea and intense sweating are also common symptoms.
60% of people who have a heart attack while they are asleep do not wake
up. Pain in the jaw can wake you from a sound sleep. Let's be careful and be aware.
The more we know, the better chance we could survive...

A cardiologist says if everyone who gets this mail sends it to 10
people, you can be sure that we'll save at least one life.
Read this..... It could save your life!!

Let's say it's 6.15 pm and you're driving home .
Suddenly you start experiencing severe pain in your chest that starts
to radiate out into your arm and up into your jaw.
You are only about five miles from the hospital nearest your home.
Unfortunately you don't know if you'll be able to make it that far.
You have been trained in CPR, but the guy that taught the course did
not tell you how to perform it on yourself.
