Sweetheart, it is always scary when someone you love is in pain, and the thought of losing them is a scary thought. She needs your love and support and you have to be strong for her. There are many things that can cause chest pain. Life and death are hand in hand. You will never have one without the other. She is probably scared and needs a familiar face with her. Put your fears aside and go to her show her your love and support. She is the most important thing. Be there for her, good luck.

Call and ask to speak to her nurse for an update. Then, if possible, go to the hospital. Running from this won't make it go away, and it won't make you or your mom feel better. And your mother needs an advocate while she is hospitalized.
Remember, most of all, that your mother is the one who is ill, not you. Do what your mother would want you to do. She may need you at the hospital right now.

I don't know your age, nor if your mum has a current partner. Could be she needs your help and support. You will need to know what is going on. Perhaps better to find out sooner rather than later. At least ring the hospital. You will need to try and be strong for mum's sake. I hope she does OK.

it could be angina (chest pain secondary to decreased oxygenated blood reaching the heart muscles). Decreased oxygenation may be caused by any blockage like a clot, or arteriosclerosis (cholesterol plaques). if it was severe and was relieved by rest or nitroglycerin medication which i believe she took, it could be a myocardial infarction, it means that some heart tissues or muscles were necrosed (died) due to prolonged deprivation of oxygen. when the blockage is removed she will be fine, but her heart will have a necrosed area then she will have to take care of herself very well.
it takes a lot of courage to see your love one sick or suffering. my mom was never in my bedside when i got sick too. but i needed her. and at the same time i understood how hard it was for her. sometimes it's harder for the folks than the patient. i believe your mom needs you too. you near her will help her recover fast and heal fast. hold her hand tell her you love her. im a nurse but i believe in the magic and miracle of a touch and words of love from a love one. patients never lose the ability to hear, it's the last thing they'll lose before their last breath. be near her.

Red Chestnut, a Bach Flower Essence will help you. Rescue Remedy is another good option. Breathe deeply. That will calm you. Pray if you can. that will help you and your mom too.

You need to find it, even if you have to fake it for your Mothers welfare. She's probably more scared than you and could use someone there to comfort her. Good luck to you both and I wish your Mother well.
