my 81 years old friend had 2 major heart attack and 1 minor, the most recent one is 7 months ago. He takes fluid tablets everyday (he suppose to but he doesn't take all the time), recently he has started drinking some beer and eating alot of icecream and fry food (don't know why he does this to himself), his symptoms are EXTREME short of breath, he couldn't even cross the road to catch a bus, but sometime he gets better the next day, also he feels quite sleepy, another symptoms is that he gets tired from walking easily, he needs to stop after walking 5 steps. Also his memory is not very good. Please tell me how long can he live?

My father is 60 years of age and has had a triple heart bypass about 5 years ago. The symptoms of angina disapeared for a while after his operation but unfortunately returned. He has angina attacks when very emotional and if subjected to cold conditions. More recently tho, eating a meal such as his favourite chicken tikka massalla have also brought these attacks on. Does anyone know why this is? All feedback would be welcome. Thank you

Most of the hypertensive patients who are on Beta-Blockers like Atenolol since a long time, are complaining of sexual weakness and lack of sexual desire. How can be managed these patients so that they do not feel sexual weakness & may enjoy their normal marital life like other people.

When I look at naked women or when my girlfriend touches me and wants to kiss. I have no desire. I do not get turned on at all. Two popscicle sticks couldn't hold it up for me. Is this normal it's been nearly a year.

Ive always had a fast heart beat..im on a beta blocker and its not pounding like it used too but its still very fast. I have a FAST METABOLISM too, and I cant gain weight. Which is good since i can eat anything and it dosn't add pounds. But im just wondering since my heart is always beating fast, if that can give me a heart problem..or stress it out eventually?. My doc said my heart is really healthy and everything looks good but he dosn't know why its always fast. I dont drink coffee, or eat sugar, nothing. But Im always HYPER...filled with all this energy. Can that give me heart probs faster then someone with a slower heart rate and not hyper all the time?

My husband switched from taking one 50 mg Toprol XL a day to taking 2 - 25 mg of Lopressor a day, about 2 weeks ago. He has been very tired lately, and has no energy. Could the Lopressor be the culprit?

Hello. I have been seeing doctors/cardiologists since November regarding chest pains and palpitations/flutters of my heart. EKGs, heart holters and x-rays have gone nowhere, been costly, and aggravated me more. I am 30 years of age and told it's in my head, basically. However I'm not seeking treatment here.

I would like to seek a non-western type of medicine. I am totally unfamiliar with this realm. Can anyone who has knowledge of this world advise me where to look? I live in a large city in the USA so such resources should be available in my area but I don't know where to look. I'd like to see someone who might be able to diagnose, or treat, or help me. Whether I have a clogged artery, or stress, or need dietary changes I haven't made, I'm eager to do with non-western medicine (in addition to my regular physician).

Thank you for your help. Serious replies only please, the rest I can do without.

Hello - Can you tell me what are my tests done for?

I have to go to the clinic tomorrow. They will give me a thyroid pill, then I have to go to the ultrasound. After a few hours and the next day I have to go back. I know it is for my Thyroid, but does anyone know exactly what they are looking for?

Thank you

In September I was diagnosed with COPD (Emphysema) then I had open heart surgery (CABG) in October, 5 bypasses were put in. I found out at that time I also have Idiopathic Intristital Pulmonary Fibrosis (IIPF). I have since been diagnosed with Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA). On Monday I had a laparoscopic cholecystectomy (Galbladder removal). I am only 47 years old. My question is why is all this happening now? How much more can I expect to happen? How long can I expect to live?
