Oh and if you watch One Tree Hill, Lucas kind of made it famous! LOL just to give you something kind of cool about it.

I want to compare experiences & value your input to see how typical or not my fate was.. In Sept.;'05 a car hit me with massive velocity. shortly after admission - in ICU - I had a MASSIVE MI with scarring in EVERY WALL of my heart. Cardiologists said they have seen few as devastating. I ceased breathing, put on respirator-I had surgeries to repair tibial fracture. I took my LIsinopril daily. I urinated copiously & ate & drank & slept normally. Fixator was removed from my tibia, and I could walk well with no atrophy & no impairment. Then in early Nov.06 -suddenly I noticed marked swelling & edema of feet, ankles, calves, knees, thighs, & abdomen & 30-lb. weight gain.
Simultanously I began to gasp for air with every breath, on any movement or exertion, or speech.. Ejection fraction tested 50% - but radiologist declared severe global hypokinesis, severe bilateral ventricular dysfunction. All lab work normal. Does CHF happen so many months after MI? Why? All diuretics FAILED.Thoughts?

It seems that science should be able to manufacture HDL and then be able to add it to the bloodstream via some method. Sounds simple but I'm sure it's not. Probably has to do with blood chemistry and metabolism. Thanks

I was diagnosed with Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome also. My main concern right now is my heart. It is getting weaker, but none of the conventional tests like ekg or echocardiogram show anything. I have been sick or dysfunctional if you will for 13 months and for the first 5 months of my illness it was not that bad. Then it got way worse and has continued getting worse. I have lost 45lbs and now weigh 125lbs. My whole body is falling apart and they did all these tests, diagnosed me with dysautonomia and sent me on my way with florinef and beta blockers. The drugs made me sicker, so I stopped taking them. Additionally, before I was tested and diagnosed with dysautonomia I was misdiagnosed with anxiety disorder by a doctor who could not figure out what was wrong with me (therefore it was all in my head) So he gave me klonopin and now i'm hopelessly addicted to the stuff. So, they say I have dysautonomia really bad, but they say that they can't find any heart problem.

procedure. He said then she won't need medication because the medication doesn't quarantee her not having another episode of tachycardia. Is this so? I was told by other doctors before that she would be on meds for life, but the meds would keep her heart working normally. I'm confused. Any info you can give me on SVT would be appreciated. Thanks.

I've read about all the wonderful benefits of taking one 81mg aspirin per day. However, when is a good time to start this? I'm 30 and heart disease does run in my family, however, I'm in good health. Should I take one per day just as a precaution?

I saw a question about defribllirators and one of the answers prompted my question. The Yahoo user stated in the answer that DC current is used to stop the heart for surgery and AC current is used to start it again. My question is: if they do this, does the person have near death experience when they blast the AC current through (you know like for those that have been resucitated with a defribllirator)? Or are they so drugged up with the anaesthetic that they wouldn't know?

Okay, I'm 23 years old, and considerd normal weight and a non smoker. About a year and a half ago I had a couple high blood pressure readings. (140's/90's). So I was ordered to have a blood pressure screening where my blood pressure would be taken five times within a month's period. Well four out of the five times (I, uh didn't make it to the last one. My blood pressure was back down into the 120's/80's. But then a few months later when I went back to the doctor it was coming up high again. And has been ever since. BUT I bought a home blood pressure monitor and I'm usually fine when tested at home. Sometimes even as low as 110's /70's. So does anybody have any idea whats going on here? Do I have hypertension or not?
