i have been having some uncomfortable issues from my the middle of my chest up to my throat. from time to time its like my breath is being taken and it usually lasts for a few seconds and then everything is fine. one day it lasted for about 30 minutes or so just over and over. i talked to a PA and they checked my heart because i thought it might be heart related. everything was ok with my heart. the PA told me that it was indigestion. has anyone ever had a problem like this? this might be indigestion but it is really scary at times when it happens. Its a really weird feeling and hard to describe. Plus when this happens I always get nervous and my blood pressure goes up to like 140 over 100. Please help.

Sept.'05 a car struck me and in ICU I had a MASSIVE MI in every wall of my heart with much scarring. For the next year, I had surgery to mend broken bones. I felt OK, ate, drank, urinated much,walked quite a bit, didn't feel feeble. Leg healed. I take aCE-inhibitors,Hydrazaline for BP. MY bloodwork for liver/kidney/lipids/etc was A-OK. NOv.06 I sudenly swelled up w/pitting edema and weak breathing, gasping, drained feeling, MY
thighs, legs, calves, ankles, & abdomen feel such pain a& pressure from water trapped inside, My outer skins feels like leather. My legs are rigid, cannot flex anymore. & all the diuretics, ALL of them make no uRINATION at all. a CUP O COFFEE WILL MAKE ME URINATE MORE. mY EJECTION FRACTION IS 50%. & they tell me that diuretics per se, have no direct effect on water overload in tissues spaces. body must wait till this fluid reabsorbs across the capillaries. I am in great pain from this CHF & edema. How many years can somone survive, like this,?

I am not sure if this is quite normal. Sometimes when I get quite angry, my heart beats fast and then after the situation, I tend to think about it and then I am short of breath. Of course, unknowingly, I am able to capture my breath all over again and become fine. If not I won't be typing this stuff out.

I am just wondering if the above was alright. I mean is this normal or am I suffering from some heart-related disease.

A 85 year old female complaining of dizziness. Has a history of heart problems and suffered a moderate stroke(blood vessel in brain rupture) 6 year ago.
Vital sign: 105 for pulse rate/per min, 95/65 for blood pressure/mmHg, breathing rate of 22 cycle per min, temperature 36 degree.

What does she suffer from? and treatment?

Has anybody done the Atkins Diet and do you think it's bad for your heart? I tryed it once and did o.k on it but was concerned about health I did however felt great on it.I need to loose about 15 - 20 lbs. Thanks so much for your advise . Blessings , Nic : o )

My 7 year old child was diagnosed with an aortic heart murmur 2+ to 3+ in intensity today. In the past, some docs thought they heard a murmur but it was very minor, but usually it was not heard. The doc ended up hearing it VERY loudly today, he said, because she was sick, higher heart rate, easier to hear. He said she definitely needs an echocardiogram. Any advice from nurses/docs out there? Thank you.

last night i had really bad pains under my sternum area and it felt like someone was sitting on my chest.i know these are symptoms of a heart attack so i went to the hospital.after many tests it was determined i did not have a heart attack,much to my relief.i was however given a cat scan which found a kidney stone.they had given me an aspirin and nitroglycerine pill earlier.the pain in my chest went away .why did the pain go away after taking the pill if there was nothing wrong with my heart.does it work for other aches also?it makes me wonder if the dr.was wrong.thanks.

I recently recieved a physical for college and the doctor decided to do an EKG on me and showed my sinus rhythm with supraventricular extrasystoles. What's this mean?? He reccomended me reducing my caffene intake and recheck in 1-2 months.
