For some people that have palpitations, no heart disease or abnormal heart rhythms can be found so the reason is unknown. In others, palpitations result from abnormal heart rhythms, called arrhythmias. Arrhythmias are caused by diseases of the heart muscle, valves or coronary arteries. In some people, arrhythmias can reflect disease of the electrical system of the heart only, while the rest of the heart is healthy. Other causes of arrhythmias include medications, alcohol excess, excessive levels of thyroid hormone, low blood oxygen levels, stress, and cigarette smoking. Please see your doctor to be tested. That is a pretty fast rate and that could be causing your headache. I would get this checked out now.
