You can lose that amount of weight without going on the Atkins diet, or modifying it a bit. I lost 30 lbs. on something called the anti-candida diet, because I had candida overgrowth (yeast) in my body. I did it just to feel better and it sure worked! Losing weight was a great by-product.

Just give up sugars, refined carbs, such as white bread and pastas. Whole grains, potatoes, and brown rice are ok, just limit their quantities. Also, you may want to limit dairy (except plain yogurt) because there are a lot of natural sugars in it. You want to stick to a diet that's high in veggies, lean proteins (fish, chicken, tofu) and whole grains. Eat lots of fiber and drink lots of water. No alcohol, pop, or juice, but tea without sugar/milk is good.

I think if you're going to follow an actual diet, the South Beach Diet is probably a much healthier choice than Atkins, and I think it will be easier to maintain. Whatever it is, it should be a lifestyle choice. If you can't keep it up, you will likely gain the weight back.

Good luck!

I did it and it is worked fine. You need to follow all the steps. After you learn good eating habits, smaller portions, less sugar, you move on to reasonable amounts of vegetables, and a balanced diet. You learn to eat more sensibly. The weight loss will be good for your heart and blood pressure and may even keep you from getting diabetes from too much sugar, which is what starch is as soon as it touches your saliva. There have been a lot of lies about Atkins, Doctors hated him, for if you aren't fat, you won't need a doctor as much. The dairy industry hated him, The cerial companies hated him. What is cerial, but sugar and wheat flour.

ok i've got accomplished the two so ... first of all in case you have in easy terms lost 5 lbs in one month on a vegetarian eating regimen you in all threat have not been exercising and/or you have taken in too many energy. in basic terms by using fact it is non carnivorous does not advise its low calorie. Now as for ATKINS run....do no longer do it. i presumed i become so clever and so did all the human beings I confident to bypass on Atkins reason I lost 29 lbs in a month, yet... no longer in easy terms did the load come suitable decrease back the minute I have been given decrease back to the actual international and ate some carbs. yet I gained decrease back extra, plus I became a B*tch mutually as in this eating regimen. CRANKY!!! and it become sooooo confusing to pay interest as your strategies has no power by using shortcoming of carbs. it is so bodily undesirable too. It become relaxing for the 1st couple of days, 1st Baron writer 1st baron verulam, cheese, steaks, salmon, nuts... AKA fat fat fat fat fat fat...then you start to experience like a pan of oil. Makes me ill recalling this eating regimen. How approximately including a sprint lean protein to the veggie eating regimen and exercising the load off, then you will need an employer toned physique.

its not bad for your heart if you eat the right foods... grains and nuts and **** like that are the way to go, if all you eat is fatty meats then sure its bad for your heart thats bad even if your not on the diet... but as long as you eat some complex carbohydrates such as in whole grain foods (not the carbs found in white bread and cake and crackers) and plenty of proteine throughout the day, your body will be able to convert it to sugar as needed.
