I haven't heard of one that works like Plavix does. I do know we see alot less people coming back into the ER for stents that plugged after placement since Plavix is on the market!
Clopridrogel is PLAVIX

Plavix is available as a generic. Its generic name is clopidogrel. It is just as effective. I always offer generics, and my husband has been on generic plavix for many months, maybe even a year.

There are no other generics that I am aware of that work on the same molecular site on the platelet (blood cell) as clopidogrel.

DO NOT start another form of blood thinner, even if over the counter, without talking to your doctor. I cannot stress this enough.

There WAS a generic Plavix, but it was pulled from the market after a challenge from the patent holder. It's still in the courts.

Ticlid is similar, but not nearly as effective.

There is no comparable drug to plavix, however you might ask your doctor about Coumadin. It is a good blood thinner but requires close supervision to maintain the correct inr levels

There are other blood thinners, but none that work quite like Plavix. You really need to talk with your doctor. Coumadin and aspirin are very powerful blood thinners

Ticlid is similar but also brand, but may be a less expensive alternative, the only other is coumadin which is generic. You must the cost benefit ratio to determine the best alternative because coumadin has costs for blood level monitoring that must be factored in.
God health and good luck
