I don't think there are any physical effect of hypertension. In fact, you can feel great, because the blood is whizzing round your body at a rate of knots. This is why high blood pressure is called a hidden killer. Regular tests are the only way of telling. Get one of those wrist things you can use at home.

When BP is REALLY high, patients can have headaches, visual changes, changes in mentation, and/or strokelike symptoms. You don't usually feel cold, however.

high B/P doesn't make you feel cold, but, if you are feeling cold cause of a stressful situation, or nervousness, then someone might associate feeling cold. cause in those situations, you might have high B/P also.
