It's a scan of your body. 64 is the number of "slices" it will make down your body to let doctors see all your organs and vessels and bone inside. You lie down on a table and the machine slides you through what looks like a huge donut. It's painless and fairly fast depending on the machine. It's much faster than an MRI.

I am assuming you are having a chest CT angiography...that is what I usually order. I find the results are much more accurate than a cardiac stress test on the condition of coronary arteries. Gives a much safer opinion of whether a more invasive heart catherization is necessary. I usually have a hard time getting insurance to pay for it. If your healthcare provider ordered it and your insurance will pay for it......you are blessed...go for it.

You will go in a machine like an MRI - Magnetic Resonance Imaging. It takes photos at different layer depths (or slices). The more "slices" the more pinpoint the problem.
