Started a couple of days ago with swollen glands behind the ear. Now ear is burning hot and itchy especially in the fold and behind the ear. Also sore from some swelling. Does this seem to be an allergy or maybe a yeast infection? Any recommendations on remedy?

I am going to my best friend's house today for a sleepover, which we have planned for many weeks now. Problem is, we live in a house with three indoor cats, and my my friend is allergic. I can only imagine how irritating it is, and I don't want to cause too much trouble for her, especially since I'll be there for three days instead of the usual hour or so.

My question is, what causes the allergic reaction, and what can I do to get rid of the offensive material (i.e. fur, dander, whatever causes the problem)? I don't think lint rollers do the trick, and I want my friend to be as happy and healthy as possible on this and future visits.

I've been looking into buying a mattress cover for my dust mite allergies.

My Sears has them on sale, but my bed (a Twin XL) is 39"x80", and their covers are 39"x75" (Twin) and 60"x80" (Queen).

Would the 75" inch cover fit (a tight fit, obviously)? Or would the Queen better (or would that be too much extra)?

Thanks.

I've had this (possible) allergy for as long as I can remember, but whenever I drink my morning coffee, and also whenever I eat chocolate (especially dark, bitter chocolate), I immediately start sneezing. It's not painful or anything extreme, but it happens like clockwork. It goes away as soon as I stop eating/drinking, and there are no other side effects. Anyone have this, or have heard of something similar?

My 4 year old has red dots under one eye (and just a little/subtle under the other). The spots are not on the rim, just under though in the crease and the skin around the immediate area is a bit red too. I asked if it was itchy and they said no. It seems like an allergy to me - any ideas of what it is or whats causing it if its an allergy?

My puppy went to the vet yesterday and had her distemper/parvo shot and it was mixed with lyme disease shot as well. Last night she was cry everytime i touched her. Today she pooped in her crate which she hasn't done in a while and also again on the carpet. The poop is diaharria(can't spell) like but its not hard and its really orange. Is this a reaction to the shot?

Every time my son who has asthma cries he throws up?? When I put him in timeout he ends up throwing up or if he even gets hurt. I am just wondering if that is a asthma thing and if so what can I do. I get tired of cleaning up vomit or running to the bathroom to be there with him cause it does scare him. Last night he fell of his bike came inside crying. threw up and asked my he does that..??? Don't know what to tell him. When I have to put him in time out I give a pan in case he can't make it to the bathroom and 9 times outta 10 he vomited in it. What can I do to help him from getting sick if anything. I know crying can flare up his asthma but he still needs to be corrected and disicplined but if it triggors an attack then what can do???

My son has be recently diganosed with allergy induced asthma. I give him his meds every night ( singular, claritian, nasonex pulmicort) and then it flairs up zopanex. My question is he just had bhronchitis in november. Here it is mid december and I noticed a cough again. Last January he had to be hospilized for it. I am giving him his meds like clockwork. Never misses a dose but he keeps getting sick. Is that normal for a kid with alleregy induced asthma ( he is allergic to dust mites and mold) . He does not act like he feels bad but that cough concerns me. I take him to the doctor ( might as well go on and move in) he has missed over a week of school so far. Does it get better as he gets older? Does he need more aggressive treatment? Or is this just part of having an asthmatic child????

really big and thick, or is it regular size, like getting a shot at the doctors office? We have to carry one because of our 5 year old and I was just curious. Thanks.

when evening comes, i start to cough. i dont know why. i've never had this problem until this summer. i has to be an allergy, because oddly, i developed an allergy to cats which causes me to cough(sneeze, hard to breathe, etc.). but that's not the weirdest part. the weirdest part is that the cough only occurs when I LAY DOWN. i dont get it. i really want to know if this is common, or should i just go to a doctor. i thought this would go away....but i guess not.

I have been taking loratadine 10 mg and Tylenol severe sinus congestion with no relief. I am still going with the idea that it's an allergy rather than a cold because my mucus is clear and I'm sneezing a lot. I have a trip in two weeks and want this gone!!

She is 7 months old now, and I still haven't introduced gluten or wheat. Should I just try it and see if there is a reaction, or should I wait until she's a bit older?
