Started a couple of days ago with swollen glands behind the ear. Now ear is burning hot and itchy especially in the fold and behind the ear. Also sore from some swelling. Does this seem to be an allergy or maybe a yeast infection? Any recommendations on remedy?

Swollen glands is usually an infection. That its progressed to a localized fever isn't good.

I very much doubt this is a yeast infection unless the affected person has some really strange hygene habits.

This may be the result of an allergy, as some times severe allergies can clog up the drainage tubes and thus cause bacteria to fester rather than be managed normally by the body.

However, from the sounds of it, you're past the stage of benadryl, and into the stage of needing antibiotics.

Please see a doctor immediately.

Do you live in a cold climate? What you are describing ,is also the signs of a frostbitten ear! if you have been exposed to frigid temps even for as short a time as 6 or 8 minutes it would do this. If this is the case keep your ear coated in neosporin to keep the ear from drying out and splitting. If this isn't the case then check with your Dr.

Sounds like an infection of some type, from what you have said. Don't wait, get it checked asap. Get well soon.
