I've had this (possible) allergy for as long as I can remember, but whenever I drink my morning coffee, and also whenever I eat chocolate (especially dark, bitter chocolate), I immediately start sneezing. It's not painful or anything extreme, but it happens like clockwork. It goes away as soon as I stop eating/drinking, and there are no other side effects. Anyone have this, or have heard of something similar?

Both coffee and chocolate are made up of many compounds. In fact chocolate is the most complex food we eat. It can have up to 1400 different chemicals in it. Because of this there is a high incidence of allergic reactions to it. It sounds possible that you are having an allergic reaction. With continued exposure, some allergies worsen over time. Other times people out grow allergies.

Another thing to be aware of is how you feel beyond the immediate reaction. For instance you may wish to monitor if you feel tired after consumption of these items. Allergic reaction can take place quickly or up to forty-eight hours. Because of this, it often becomes quite a detective job to discern what you may be causing your sneezing.

It could also be a mechanical reaction to the heat in your morning coffee. Also, consider what time of day you react. Does chocolate affect you at all times of day?

Dark chocolate is typically more complex than the milk chocolates and you may be able to find certain brands or types of chocolate that do not cause you reactions.

I think you're allergic to the cocoa bean, which chocolate & coffee both have.
