Something in your house can be causing that. Mold is the number one culprit, mold and mildew. Dust is second. The environment you live in too. If you have pets, cats and dogs, the oils on their furs. Seasonal, trees, grass, ragweed, etc. Your body goes into attack mode and produces HISTAMINES to fight off these (harmless but the body does not know that) invaders...you need antihistamines to calm the histamines down and relieve the symptoms. For Rhinitis you should get a prescribed nasal spray but try this at home (don't buy the store saline too much preservatives) but make your own saline. 1 tspn water per litre (or quart) of water. Keep it handy and 3 times a day wash your hands clean, pour some into your hand and inhale it into your sinuses, careful not to inhale and swallow it although it's harmless it won't taste good. This will reduce the swelling of the tissues. Do it 3 times a day for 3 days then once daily and see if it helps.

If it is only allergic cold, take one tablet of Levocetrizine 10 mg at the bed time. It has side effect of slight sleepiness. Brand names are: 1AL and Lezyncet. Donot drive Vehicle taking the tablet.
Long term usage of nasal drops may cause atrophic rhinitis and so not advisable.
Important and correctible cause of nasal obstruction is bend of nasal septum to one side (deviated nasal septum-DNS). Conusult the ENT Specialist to rule out this. This condition can be corrected by a small operation and once for all relief will be there.

This is the method of pin pointing the items and removing from the surrounding and by injections of vaccine like serums get reed of allergy. You need to see an allergist. If in small town you may have to go to a big city they will mail the serum after the skin testes.
PS:

In our Tamil tradition, pepper and dry ginger are considered to be best medicine for cold related problems. Put some pepper and dry ginger in a vessel and add water and then boil the mixture till the water is reduced considerably. Take this daily for one week you may be relieved of cold problems.

An allergy is an abnormal reaction to ordinarily harmless substance or substances. These sensitizing substances, called allergens, may be inhaled, swallowed or come into contact with the skin. When an allergen is absorbed into the body it triggers white blood cells to produce IgE antibodies.
