This girl in my History class walks in complaining about being burned by a tanning bed, so this guy mumbles "skin cancer" and she hears him. She turns to him and says "Who cares if I get skin cancer, I can get it removed, and I'll cover the scars with make-up, at least I'll be pretty and tan. I would never want to be pale like you." WHAT IS WRONG WITH PEOPLE?!

My baby boy is 9 months old. He was suffered from Itchy Eyes, Running Nose and little bit cough and sneezing. Our doctor said that it may has allergy so he gave anti-allergy syrup (Loratadine) to him for 15 days (2 times a day). After 15 days, he recovered but only for 1 week only. Again he attacked by same symptoms and this time he has low grade fever also. Doctor again said it is may allergy or cold so no problem. Give him paracetamol if there is fever and anti-allergy syrup to him. Fever has gone after 3 days but still he is suffering frm red itchy eyez and running nose. Kindly anybdy tell me wat is this or how long cold takes to go?

For more than four weeks I had an enlarged lymph node on one side of my neck and it doesn't hurt. It grew within those weeks and now it's disappearing. I'm safe rite? Do I need to still concern my doctor about this?

They said they found a tumor in my mom's breast and they did the ultrasound to determine it was a tumor and not a sisis. Now what's the next step? I know they need to determine if it's cancerous or not but where would she go for that. ?

My mother found out she has breast cancer. The one type of cancer that there is a cure for, unless you get to it way too late. She announces it to everyone she sees and has already quit her job when it is even necessary yet. She will be getting surgery soon to have the lump removed and doctors believe she has found it early enough. She has two friends that has already been through this who is living strong and happy lives and working in the school that she worked in. I do care and am very concerned, but I don't think we should all be moping around, with our heads down thinking that it is the end of her life or the end of the world. This may sound rude, selfish, cruel: but I think she is wanting too much pitty and to be babied. My father just went through cancer in three diferent areas in his body and it is now cured. He wanted no pitty he held in strong. Do you think I should feel sad, feel pitty, and mope around? Do you think I am cruel and don't care? How do you think I should feel?

I found a writeup from Dr. Dean Ornish at http://www.rd.com/content/dr-dean-ornish-column/ that says it was essentially useless/misleading because they didn't change their diet enough. It apparently muddied the waters even more because they concluded that a "low-fat diet does not cut health risks."

That's exactly the opposite of what Dr. Ornish found. He says on page 2 from data collected in their own controlled trials, "that the more people changed their diet and lifestyle, the more improvement we measured. In order to reverse disease, people needed to make much bigger changes than most doctors had been recommending. If you can reverse disease, then it's even easier to prevent it."

I believe this was in the October, 2007 issue of Reader's Digest.

I’m not sure how to ask this, but my daughter is 2 ½ years old and she has been getting UTI’s since she was 6mos. And we recently had VCUG and a NVCUG. The VCUG showed that she had reflux of a grade 2 and the NVCUG confirmed the results, she also has scarring on her right kidney and is smaller than the left so we have her on an antibiotic for now but the Urologist is suggesting surgery. Is this in your opinion the only way to resolve her problem or will the antibiotic over time be something we should consider, please help.

My son is 3 and a half, at that age they give them the flu shot in 2 half doses 1 month apart. After BOTH shots, he got a nasty, lingering bug, with cold like symptoms (runny nose, congestion, and cough). The nurse told us that there is no way for the shot to make him sick because there is nolive virus contained in the shot. My aunt also got sick the same way, and her nirse/doctor said the same thing to her. So are they lying? Why are they both sick, and can anything be done to prevent this short of avoiding the flu shot in the future? What exactly IS in the flu shot?
