Is there any things i can do?

2007-11-22 23:59:14 · 15 answers · asked by Anonymous in Cancer

I have raised this question again simply because I feel there is a need to reinform people on this one.

I am a PhD scientist and I can tell you for certain that it has been proven that condoms do not prevent the contraction of HIV/AIDs. The virus is actually smaller than the latex barrier. I was so horrified when I learnt of this fact that I have been doing my best ever since to try and warn people that would otherwise not put their lives in danger if they realized this.

A study carried out at University of Miami Medical School which used live couples to test HIV transmission found "that 3 out of 10 women whose husbands are HIV positive and were always using a fresh condom for each intercourse, contracted AIDS Related Complexes (ARC) in an 18-month period". This translates into an infection rate of 11.2 per cent first year, 21 per cent in 2 years, 30 per cent in 3 years, 45 per cent in 5 years and 70 per cent in 10 years.

I made out with a guy a week ago but I just now remembered my lips were a bit chapped and I might have a canker sore (but was at the end of it)...should I worry about HIV?

I just got tested (negative) but am scared to wait 3 months despite all I've read about the small chances of this happening...

Ok, I was in the hospital for the first time in my life (besides having my son) three months ago... I went to the ER because my side was killing me and I had a really high fever. They gave me a cat scan and ran a million tests and come to find out they said I had sepsis really bad... i'm only twenty two and they said it was so unusual that a person my age would have that much bacteria in my blood and that its usually only that high in older patients. So they then diagnosed me with Toxic Shock Syndrome... so I have avoided tampons ever since of course. But here lately my side is hurting agian and at least once a day i'm saying that I don't feel good... can this stuff come back? Also, can you make it worse from drinking alcohol? I only go out maybe like once every couple months but I don't want this stuff to come back. Thanks for your help!

It happens every few days and lasts for about 10 minutes each time. Only my left though. It's been doing this off and on for a couple months now. I don't take caffiene at all either.

I noticed that I sometimes feel a stabbing pain( ? ..like as if something is pricking me) often at the left side of my thorax. I can't determine if the pain is located right by my ribs or at the ICS. the pain doesnt radiate and it lasts for a few seconds although rarely does it cause severe pain that I have to hold my breath. Whenever that happens I have to breath intermittently cause it hurts in every inspiration. I dont visit the doctor so I don't know what it is. at first I thought it was due to lack of oxygen or something like muscle cramps because i noticed 'the attacks' to occur when I laugh too hard but now, 'the attacks' just happen. Can someone tell me if it means anything? thanks

I know it's nearly impossible to have a readings around 135 because every diabetic has their high and lows. Say by some miracle that this could happen, could a person with readings near there, never getting higher than 135, could a person avoid complications later in life completely or would having diabetes, with very well managed blood sugar, still come back to haunt you? Don't be afraid to give an honest answer. Thanks!

I haven't been feeling real well the last couple of weeks so I thought I would check my blood sugar. I had dinner around 7:00pm and I've been checking my blood sugar throughout the night and it's been kind of high. I had gestational diabetes so I know the range. I guess the silly part of this is, is if you don't have diabetes does your blood sugar still rise?

Here are my blood sugar results over the past few hours;
8:10pm- 160
9:00pm- 178
9:20pm- 197
9:50pm- 202

Also, I've had this ache on my left side every time after I eat.

My resting heart rate was 80-90 BPM, and my heart rate would go up just doing simple things. I was pretty sedentary for over a year, due to the fact that I spent the majority of it pregnant with my daughter. I wasn't in wonderful cardiovascular shape in the first place, though.

Now, I am not overweight (still within a normal BMI, although I have a few pounds to still shed from the pregnancy). I succumbed to smoking again after the pregnancy, I eat a good diet, and drink plenty of water.

I also had a normal EKG and blood enzyme test. I don't think that there's anything wrong with my heart (those tests would have shown it if there was, right?).

I want to know when I'm going to start feeling better. I've maintained 120-130 BPM during moderate cardio exercise (brisk walking about a mile and a half a night). I hate walking up a flight of stairs and getting out of breath!

i just took my blood pressure and its 121/81. I'm pretty certain that is about average. I'm 21 years old. However my heart rate seemed fairly high at 98 bpm. is this normal?
