I made out with a guy a week ago but I just now remembered my lips were a bit chapped and I might have a canker sore (but was at the end of it)...should I worry about HIV?

I just got tested (negative) but am scared to wait 3 months despite all I've read about the small chances of this happening...

if you have any wound openings then there might be a chance that you may get the virus. though kissing is not a high incidence of getting HIV usually it is acquired through blood or during sexual contact.
is the guy positive of HIV? all you can do is wait 3-6mos before doing the test for HIV. but there are some cases where the test becomes positive after 10yrs after contamination. but that is s very rare case. just pray that you wont get infected if the guy is positive.=)

The chances of getting HIV by kissing are really low...actually never heard about that happening before. HIV spreads only by sex and direct from blood contact. I don't thing you should worry. Aldo I do not agree with making out with strangers, other viruses like Hepatitis lurk around. Still don't think you should worry.

lol, there was a case of HIV tranmission through kissing but both parties involved had really bad cases of gingivitis. Only ONE case reported in all of modern medicine. I think you have more chances of getting struck by lighting 4 times in the same day. Chapped lips won't give you HIV. You can get infected through blood, semen, vaginal fluid, breat milk, not dry lips :) Don't worry, you won't get HIV from touching someone who has it either, or through sweat.

HIV can only be transfrered through the transfer of body fluid from an infected to an uninfected. So, as long as you were not bleeding in your mouth and he wasnt also, then you are o.k.
Dont get yourself worried over nothing.

It is possible because HIV can transmit into your blood stream, but you tested negative to it.

Also, how do you know the guy had HIV?

It is very unlikely that you would transmit it this way. Unprotected sex is the most common way to transmit it.

How old are..???!!!!

It takes a whole load of saliva to actually infect someone so the answer to your question would be no, you cannot.

If anything, you have probably infected him with herpes by kissing him withyour cold sore.
