I know it's nearly impossible to have a readings around 135 because every diabetic has their high and lows. Say by some miracle that this could happen, could a person with readings near there, never getting higher than 135, could a person avoid complications later in life completely or would having diabetes, with very well managed blood sugar, still come back to haunt you? Don't be afraid to give an honest answer. Thanks!

135 is a very reachable number and is a healthy number. Many years ago, if blood sugars were over 150, that is when a person was diagnosed as diabetic. Now it's anywhere between 120-130. We can only speculate that is because diabetes is such a money-maker for the healthcare industry, if MORE people are diagnosed....more money is made.
If you are consistently under 150, I would say you would avoid most, if not all harmful complcations of diabetes. Diabetes is a life-long challenge, especially if you don't like exercise. Keeping your numbers under 150 now will likely save you years of difficulty later on.

It wont go away, diabetes is a chronic disease. Controlling it and keeping your blood sugar at a good level will help avoid complications. If your blood sugar is 135 after eating, that is good. If it is 135 prior to eating that is still just a little too high. Your best bet is to have regular appts with your doctor and have periodic HgbA1C readings, it will give your doctor a more accurate reading of how your blood sugars have averaged over a longer period of time (3months I think)

I think it just depends on your own body. With very well managed blood sugars I think it will definitely help you over time. The longer you have diabetes the more the risk for complications, but I think if you have good control of your diabetes, you lessen the chances for complications.

The community has three choices: prevent diabetes; cure diabetes; and improve the quality of care of people with diabetes to prevent complications.
If you already have diabetes, you can only improve your health to avoid complications.

ANY fasting reading over 125 is doing damage to the tiny nerves and blood vessels in your body.
No!! by consistantly haveing a reading over 125 the damage is being done and the future looks very grim for continuing to type, walk, or see! Let alone what that is doing to your heart!!!

i doubt that it will always be that low. you have to watch diet and exercise and if you sto that then you wil have higher numbers. it can come back as long as you are not watching this count. take care.
