My baby boy is 9 months old. He was suffered from Itchy Eyes, Running Nose and little bit cough and sneezing. Our doctor said that it may has allergy so he gave anti-allergy syrup (Loratadine) to him for 15 days (2 times a day). After 15 days, he recovered but only for 1 week only. Again he attacked by same symptoms and this time he has low grade fever also. Doctor again said it is may allergy or cold so no problem. Give him paracetamol if there is fever and anti-allergy syrup to him. Fever has gone after 3 days but still he is suffering frm red itchy eyez and running nose. Kindly anybdy tell me wat is this or how long cold takes to go?

My 5 month old grandson is going through the same thing. The allergist told my daughter the same thing your doctor told you.

I think that because he drools alot, his chest is constantly damp so we keep a bib on him all the time now. It doesn't seem to make much of a difference though. I think it is just that time of year for colds and it is especially harder for infants. Especially since most mom's work so the baby is taken outside every morning and evening, when the temp is colder and damper now. My daughter brings my Grandson over at 8 am and picks him up at 6 pm.

One thing we did to think to check though was the filter on our furnace. Since it had been off all summer, we thought maybe that was causing problems.

Well, this is really a matter in which you need to seek a second opinion.

But in my experiences, with my 4-year-old son and my 2-year-old neice and my 11-year-old cousin, babies get sick very often as their bodies build immune systems. Your son is 9 months, im assuming he's crawling or starting to crawl. He will be touching anything and everything and be on the floor. He will get covered with all sorts of germs, even if your house is impecibly clean. It's unavoidable.

But again, these symptoms are reoccurring and can be signs of serious health issues. It would be best to get a second opinion, one that doesnt include the immediate decision to drug up your baby.
