I don't believe any fair minded person is going to recommend that you stop taking your blood pressure medication on Yahoo Answers. There are a number of questions that should be considered. How low is your blood presssure? Have you taken several readings for an average and accurate reading? What is the name of the medication you are taking? What is the dosage? When are you taking the medication, and when are you checking your BP? Are you experiencing any symptoms with the low blood pressure? How long have you been on this medication and have you experienced this low BP reading before while taking this medication. So, as you see, these are questions that your medical professional will and should consider before adjusting your medication.

Does you blood pressure go low in the summer or under moderate to heavy sweating? I take three heart medications for high blood pressure and find my pressure going under 85/50 in the summer.
You are probably taking more than one medication and possibly more than one dose daily. I would talk to the doctor about which medication you could cut back on to keep your pressure from going too low otherwise you may become dizzy or pass out.

I tried to duck and dive when my blood pressure reading became low after taking meds. I tried stopping them only to find that is shot up again in no time at all.

You can help your blood pressure by exercising which I found odd but it does help enormously. I also bought myself a monitor from boots so I can monitor my own pressure instead of keep going back to the doctors each month. Now I only go for my 6 monthly cardio check up. If you consider buying a monitor get one than has an arm cuff and not wrist cuff as the wrist readings are supposedly unreliable. £19.99 mine cost me.

No the reasonyou blood pressure is low is because of the pills. If you stop taking them your b/p will go right back up. If your blood pressure gets to high it can cause a stroke and varying between taking them and you b/p being normal and then high puts strain on your heart. You need to continue taking them as they were prescribed.

No.

Only your Dr. Should decide to discontinue any medication.

Your blood pressure is low because of the medication. It will probably just raise again when you go off them.
